How busy will Epcot be during pin event?

We'll be at WDW Sept. 14 - 21 and I just noticed that there is a big pin trading event at Epcot the last few days we're there. I know *nothing* about pin trading, and can't tell from the Disney site how big this event is going to be. Our current itinerary has us in Epcot on Saturday - would it be a good idea to do another park that day? We are staying offsite, so can't use Early Entry. Which park is likely to be least busy on Sat. ? I know to stay away from MK, though we'll be there in the evening for Spectro and FIST. Help!

From what I've been told this year's pin event is another sell-out. Come on out and have fun. Pintraders are pretty okay folks. You'll surely meet a lotta DISers thata way.

I think there are between 1500 and 2500 signed up. Does that sound right to anyone else? Not even 10% of the park traffic for a day.

you should be fine. Speaking as a pin trader (although I'm not going to the event this year), they will be too busy pin trading to go on rides. The only attraction that may draw some people is Mission Space since it's so new. You may find some restaurants busier than usual too.

Thanks! I have no worries about meeting pin traders , just wasn't sure of the scope of the event. If it were huge and would make Epcot really crowded I would rework things to visit there earlier in the week. As it is, sounds like it won't make a big difference to how crowded the park is. I bought my son a lanyard and some pins from cheappins, so maybe he'll get to do some trading that weekend...
