Would like to stay on site but since we have a time share it's a little hard to fork up the price for an on site hotel. Basically I am trying to figure out if it's worth the money to do it or not? Thinking of this in regards to the express pass feature and the early entry....I talked to a tm who said the early entry is so worth it no matter when due to the wait for Harry potter. But in general, how busy can we expect that week tok be?
Thanks!:goodvibes:goodvibe

easter is the 8th of april so the crowds will have died down by the first of May.

not sure about local schools and field trips to universal though.

i went once the first 9 days of May and thought it had light crowds.
very nice weather and no long lines in the parks.

with parry hotter drawing in crowds, that section could still be busy when you go.

Went twice the 3rd and last weeks and May and the crowd levels where lite. We had a great time and did not have the express passes, little wait time for anything.

We've gone to US several times (including this year) the first week of May. One of the best times to go - weather is great, and the parks aren't very busy. We stay on site, and one of the reasons we go then is the rates at the hotels go WAY down May 1 - the lull after all the spring breaks, and before the summer crunch.

An easy way to try to predict how busy the parks may be - check their hotel rates online. The cheaper, the less crowded, and vice versa.

Well, I can't quite speak to a lot of experience with Universal... but if Disney is a good crowd indicator (and I feel it would be for anything "Orlando" attraction-wise)... first week of May is FANTASTIC! We have gone the last week of April into the first week of May for the past 3 years and it has been light crowds and wonderful weather. This will be our first family vacation to Universal, and we're going the same time because of this.

Also agree with Spewey and others.... hotel rates are a great indicator of the crowd levels. :)
