How busy is MK on non-party nights

We are taking our first October trip Oct 1-8 but won't be attending the party. I am taking my nephews for their first trip and want them to see wishes and the evening parades so we are going on non-party nights. How bad will it be? I know the crowd calendars will say to avoid MK on these days but how bad is it really?

Very, very crowded - A huge amount of people will be going for the exact reason you are.

Bad. We were there last year. So bad. Getting out after fireworks nearly gave me a panic attack. Honestly all I could think was how we'd all be in major trouble if even a small emergency arose. They opened the extra exit. Still awful. Going again same time this year. Will NOT be there on non party nights.

I had the same experience on our last non-party night in the MK. It was probably worse because it was a Saturday night, but it wasn't even EMH night.

I can say that MK on a party day was not exactly relaxing last year either. It would be interesting to see a direct comparison, but we have decided to go on a non-party day this year to see the fireworks because last year we chose to miss them with the expectation that crowds would be lower, but there were heavy crowds nonetheless.

we found Oct 7 last year (a non-party Wednesday) to be extremely crowded. more so than what we experienced on July 2.

I was there on Oct. 7 because it was the only night to catch MSEP and Wishes. It was very congested for that time period but really thinned out after. If it's an EMH night, you can get a lot done after after Wishes. We arrived around 4:30 to eat at CRT and used some FPs before MSEP.

It will be crowded. The party days can be good until 4 when the crowds start pouring in. If you want to do a night at MK, I would consider getting party tickets.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what are Party Days?

Nevermind. I found it on Disney's website (Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, I assume.)

DW and I went last year on a non-party day during the week in mid-October. On top of that MK had night time EMH. We knew it was going to be crowded, but frankly it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The longest wait we had was for HM, but during Halloween season we didn't mind (other than the fact that it kept breaking down and was closed right after we got off). Got FP+ for other more popular rides and spent the day avoiding where most of the crowds were. We were staying on site and was able to avoid the mass exodus after Wishes and instead stayed until after closing and enjoyed a late-night leisurely walk out of the park.
