How busy is it right now? And how hot?

We are possibly driving down to San Diego for my SILs graduation and I am considering trying to convince DH to stop in at Disneyland. We are going to stay the night Friday in Anaheim so that we aren't a "bother" to the inlaws. I am trying to salvage something out of this miserable trip but don't want to make it worse by convincing DH to go to Disney and then it be miserable crowd wise and way too hot. I expect it to be way busier than when we usually go in off season times but I was hoping maybe the crappy economy had slowed things down a bit. Any news from anyone that has been there recently?

Either way I think we honestly need this detour to make this trip not make me want to kill myself.:scared1:

I can't guarantee that it won't be hot. However, crowds have been reported to be smaller than expected, especially on weekdays.

So sorry to hear you're doing one of those trips: "I can't stand my in-laws but I love my spouse, so I'll grit my teeth and smile"... I can relate. When are you going to the parks; is it just for Friday evening, or would you be able to stay on Saturday, too?

I was there 3 weeks ago and if your going on a weekend day fri or sat. especially its going to be busy...weather should be in high 80's low 90's so not too terribly bad but by sundown it should be nice....:goodvibes

When I was there last weekend, it felt like there was more ppl on Mon. then there was on Sun. Sun had pretty resonable crowds.

We are here now...yesterday 7-17...very HOT, esp by afternoon. Crowds were light in morning at DL but by noon it was very crowded. We switched to CA and crowds were light.

All day long we walked on most rides or used fastpasses. I firmly believe it doens't matter how crowded the parks are if you know how to work it.

Hope this helps,
Jes

Wow....sorry to hear you have in-law issues. Good luck with the trip! (and the in-laws)

We are heading down to DL on the 7/23 so I'll be interested in seeing the replies too.

I just got home last night and it was in the mid 80's all week. I was mildly hot, depends on what you are used to. I am from Northern CA and we had 100's so I am used to REALLY hot and I would so it was not excrutiating but it seemed humid to me so it was def WARM. Not uncomfortably so but def warm. Also the crowds were def there. It was not the walk ons that I had been hearing about. Indy was 75 min wait, splash 65 mins yesterday and the day before.

As always you could do most stuff early in the day fairly easily. We walked on Space first thing in the a.m. but a lot of stuff kept breaking down. Splash was down in the morning yesterday, thunder mountain last night, space broke down while we were on it on Tues. Lots of things were going down but they DID get them back up later in the day.

Toy story was down on wed morning when the park first opened but they DID get it back up eventually and we did ride on it and later in the day it had a 40 min wait and we rode on it again in the standby line.

DCA was of course better than Disneyland but, for example, when the fireworks and things were down there was a SEA of people. So I would not say it was light crowds.
