How busy is HHI the week of Easter?

I'm assuming the resort is sold out, and busy. How would you rate the crowd level on the island itself? Is there a mob of cars on the bridge to and from the island? I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense for our family to try vacationing there over the kids' spring break some year, or if the crowds are just too much. Thanks. :goodvibes

I've not stayed at the DVC location over Easter, but have been on the island for a week starting on Palm Sunday. I was there for an industry conference.

It was nice weather wise(mid April) for someone from Ohio. Probably mid 70's. Kids were in the pool

According to a friend who summered on HHI, it was pretty calm according to him.

I had only previously been to HHI in late March and mid October.

We were there over Easter break last year and have reservations to go back again this year. There were no traffic issues at all. We drove all around the island without any problems.

Thanks y'all. DH and I take 3 days each March away from the kids, and it's always dead on the island then. As the kids get older, I've been wondering if at some point they will prefer a beach vacation to WDW. It's so hard to take our older dd out of school now, that all vacations are scheduled around school breaks. HHI would be fabulous at Easter, nice and warm.

I think that "nice and warm" comment might not be true depending on when Easter is. I was there end of March(just like Easter was this year), it was in the mid 60's-low 70's tops. I wore a sweatshirt and shorts, the natives were bundled up like I do when we have neg degree wind chills, no one in the pool.

Of course the week before, it was in the 80's, but I have heard that one on all three of my HHI trips.

Starr, excellent point. You're right, the kids are ALL about being able to go swimming. Maybe I'll shoot for a year when Easter falls the latest it ever does. Thanks again!!

It also depends on whether the PGA golf tournament is the same week. We were there a couple years ago for Easter when the golf tournament coincided. Once the golf tournament was over the island was busy but not as crowded as in the summer.
