How busy is Cars Land all through out the day?

There has been alot of reports of heavy crowds at park opening, either getting FP's or in line as a single rider for RSR in CarsLand. I was wondering if that initial rush ever dies down or evens out? Does CarsLand as a whole stay consistently busy all day long?

We are going before Thanksgiving and am wondering if it will even be worth the time & effort to get into Cars Land if it's consistently crazy crowded all day/night. Been studying up on all the tips to get FP's for RSR but I am not confident we'll be able to do it. We have a large extended family (various ages from 3 y/o to 71 y/o) going with us and we are staying off site about 10 mins away. I'm just not confident that we can all get there early enough to make sure we can get a FP.

Just wondering if any recent visitors might be able to chime in?

We loved Cars Land at night. It was odd because it never seemed crowded (3 of our 5 nightswe were there) and it really seemed to shine then. All the neon lights and the lines were always the shortest then. We hit EE one morning and still waited an hour because of the break downs. We did not see it break down at night but did in the am and around 1. IMHO it totally worth the wait! Not 2 hours but 60-90 minutes YES! Luigis on the other hand was ok but not worth more than a 20-25 minute wait. Maters ride we never waited more than 15 minutes the two times we road it and it was my dh and one of the kiddos faves.

Lines seemed to thin out during the 9 pm world of color show. We went to the 10:15 and jumped in line right after although we had a kid swap pass it did not seem as long as during the day. Unless you are there first thing avoid the place in the am because yes it is a madhouse.

To be honest I did not understand the fuss over the fast pass as the line seemed just as long as the line for the actual ride. Only advantage being if it broke down.

Thanks peyjax! I appreciate your input. It gives me hope that we will at least be able to walk around & check it out even if we don't get on RSR.

But this is a big advantage for alot of people that can't ride SR or want to ride together. If the ride breaks down, you can waste alot of time in line.

Hydroguy reported here that he waited in line just a few minutes before closing and had about a 40 minute wait for RSR. Not sure what time the hours were that day though. This might be a good strategy for those that can't get the FP or want to get one more ride in.

The land itself isn't any more crowded that say paradise pier. Rsr is another story. The line will be long all day long and there's just no way around it... I've tried. However, the other rides in cars land are fairly manageable, but nothing compared to rsr. I think you're listening too much to the hype because apart from rsr it's not as crazy as it seems.

I thought CL was busy, but not crowded. I often start to feel claustrophobic in crowds, but I never felt uncomfortable in CL. The walkways are wide and that made it easier to navigate. Our favorite time is in the evening just before the neon lights come on. It's so cool when they turn the light on.

This is all great information...thank you. We will be heading there in June (first week) and I too was wondering about this. We will be staying on site so we will be able to utilize the EMH, but was wondering what the difference was between early morning and doing RSR compared to waiting to do it later in the day or even at night, which BTW sounds like it could be pretty awesome to ride then .

We were there the 3rd week of July, and it was very crowded all day.

We also stayed off site, but didn't have a problem getting RSR FP. We arrived at the gate 15 min. prior to regular opening time, and one time they let us in then. We went to the FP line, and both days got a return time of 1-2 pm. We only waited 10-15 min. each morning to ride Mater, however we did wait an hour to ride Luigi.

I thought it was crowded to walk around. We went back late at night-11:30 and took awesome pictures, it was empty at that point!! I do love it at night! It looks just like you have transported to Radiator Springs!

We got there exactly at 9 and they had already started letting people in before we got there. The lines for FP's was almost as long as waiting in the line itself. Even the single rider lane at one time posted a 60 minute wait. Longest wait time we saw for RSR was 180 minutes. The rest of DCA was pretty mellow. Everything was pretty much a walk on except for TSM. Too bad they don't give FP's for TSM like they do at WDW.

Not the poster you asked, but I can answer your question. There are no FPs for TSMM. There is only a standby line. WDW does have FP for this ride, but we don't in CA.

Does TSM get as crowded as RSR?

In WDW, the TSM crowd is just like RSR, if you don't get in line or get your FP first thing in the morning, you will be waiting hours to ride..........

TSMM used to be a lot busier, but in my experience it has gotten a lot better since Carsland opened and took some of the heat!

The thing about not having FPs at TSMM is that it evens out the waiting experience. TSMM is one of the most consistent lines in the park. Most days it hovers about 45 minutes pretty consistently. It will be less than that first thing in the morning, I have noticed a dip during World of Color as well.

Obviously on crazy busy days, this time will increase (think busy holidays, summer, etc.), but I haven't seen it at two hours since forever. So I think you are good to go. What I normally do is get a snack and a drink and DH and I use the time wisely.

Well, if you get RSR FPs first thing, you can make a calculated decision after that. Would you rather ride Luigi's or TSMM? TSMM will probably be a 20-30 minute wait during the first hour or so of opening (most days, except super busy ones). Luigi's line builds up as it is a slllooowww loader. It is recommended to ride Luigi's as early as possible. I have done RSR FP, Luigi's and then TSMM and it worked pretty well on a non-EMH day at DCA. 15 minutes for RSR FP, 20 minutes for Luigi, and then 30 minutes for TSMM. Not bad!

But did they allow you to enter the other lines AFTER 8:00? I thought they usually stop letting people queue up at close but then let everyone that is in line through to ride?

YES!!! That was the great thing about it, most people thought it was closed so the lines were short. The first time we discovered this the park closing announcement had already happened and we were walking out past luigi's and saw someone go in. So, i ask the cm if they were closed like the rest of the park or if we could go in. She said that they were open for half and hour and that of course we could get in line. The second night we were walking back from dinner at boardwalk pizza and pasta. We walked past WOC and it had already started showing so it was after 8:15. As we got close to carsland i could see that the two rides were still running so again went up to the cm at mater's and asked if we could get on or if they were closing. The cm said that they were still open for a bit while woc was on and that we could get in line.
