We are going to be at DL the 15,16,17,18 and leaving the 19th. It looks like the Pirates III premier will be there on the 19th. Does this mean that the days we are there will be crazy/busy????

What month is the premier? I can't find anything on it.
We were at the last one in June... that time of year is just plain busy so I'm not sure if the premier added to it. I did notice that most of the people that were there for the premier (I mean the people there to watch the stars go in) mainly stayed on main street so actually the ride lines were shorter that day. we rode rides all day and then when the stars started coming we were actually getting ice cream on main street and then were able to get an area to stand to watch right behind the photographers. :cool1: so we got the best of both worlds it was fun. I would do it again!

We were there last year directly before the premier. If they do the same this year with roping off parts of New Orleans Square it makes getting around the parks a challenge. Last year, directly in front of Rivers of America they set up bleachers for the movie premier. Tom Sawyer Island had a screen installed on it where the movie was actually shown. All of this meant that you could not walk through that part of the park meaning Adventureland was how you got from Frontierland over into Critter Country and parts of NOS. It was a traffic nightmare since Adventureland is a narrow little area anyway. They also removed the fastpass machines for Indiana Jones so that ppl wouldn't be hanging around that ride waiting for fp's to come up making more ppl clogging the area. It didn't seem to affect crowds too much but it did affect how you got around the park! No idea if they will do that same thing this year or not. Also, the Pirates ride was completely closed down last year before the premier. I think they are not doing any refurbs on the ride this year which is good since that ride is a large capacity one and keeps lots of people in the ride and out of other areas of the parks.

I agree with what Amy&Dan said. We went a couple of times before the premiere and it was really cool to see the progress of everything but it was an absolute traffic nightmare right towards the end. Not so bad during the week because it was May and still low crowds during the weeknights, but we went the night before (which I think was a Friday night) and man oh man -- trying to get around New Orleans Square to Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion was a nightmare.

While the rest of the park didn't feel that crowded that night, that area did. Have fun watching the transformation of the Rivers of America. If they set it up the same way they did last year it will be very cool. You guys should take pictures each day in the park so you can see the progress. You should have a great trip and hopefully the parks shouldn't be crowded at all when you are there during the week! :)
