A friend & I had already booked at SSR (my home) for Dec 5- 12, 2008. I just learned that my daughter is pregnant with my first grandchild & due December 4th. Yea!!. Oops, now I have a problem. I'm hoping that my friend will be able to reschedule her vacation so we can go the 1st week of May 2009. How busy are the parks then. What are my chances of getting a 2 bedroom at Beach Club or Villas at Wilderness Lodge at the 7 month window. We had planned for December because of all the Christmas activities & decorations. What's happening in early May that I can use to convince her that she'll have a just as good a time then. She's 54 years old & never been to WDW. I have to call her tomorrow & tell her the news. Help!

I've only been in Oct & May so I might not be too much help. May was not too bad crowd wise, just a little higher than the end of Oct times. We enjoyed seeing the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot in May, everything was very beautiful.

I almost forgot to mention the most important part...Congratulations on becoming a Grandparent! Grandchildren are so much fun!:cloud9:

Congratulations on becoming a grandparent!

I always prefer to go the first week in May for Epcot's F&G show. This year (April 30 - May 5th) the weather was nothing short of fabulous. There wasn't any of the terrible Florida humidity around and so I think it was one of my most enjoyable trips ever!

We were just in a studio, but I do think that you can get 2 bedrooms at either VWL or BCV at 7 months for the beginning of May. For May, BCV/BWV would be my resorts of choice because of the easy access to the Flower and Garden Show!

Bobbi:goodvibes

Got a 2 bedroom at BCV at the 7 month window this year for May 4-11th. It was our first time at BCV and we LOVED it.

The first week in May is one of our preferred times to go. The weather is warming up but the humity typically hasn't arrived, and the crowds aren't too bad.

We just got back from our trip during the Flower & Garden show (4/26 - 5/2).

I agree with Bobbi - nothing short of fabulous! Here are some pictures, which don't even begin to do it justice! Most are of EPCOT, but there are a few from the balcony of our SV 1 bedroom at the BWV & some from the AK, too, LOL. Used a brand new camera (my first digital) and was learning big time).

Carol's 2008 Flower & Garden Festival

There's quite a bit of info on the 2008 Flower & Garden Festival all over the various Disney web sites, including the DIS:

Epcot's 2008 Flower & Garden Festival

Early December is awesome, but so is F&G - and I'm not even a gardener!

Congrats on the new Grandkid - that's about the only thing I know that can beat out a trip to WDW, LOL!

We just went to WDW and checked in at SSR May 4 (Sun) and checked out on Tuesday (May 6) for a last minute trip. It was not crowded at all. We only went to water parks, though. Anyway, I will do it again next year, if DD is healthy all year and doesn't miss any days (well, except for the 3 days she misses every year for our annual October F&W/MNSSHP trip:rolleyes1 ) and continues to get straight A's. It is nice to sneak into WDW right after spring break, but right before summer.

Congrats on becoming a grandparent!

Carol,
Thanks for the F & G info. I'll pass it on to my friend. She likes gardening. Hopefully it will convince her to reschedule the trip for next May.

If she's 54 for she might remember some of these folks.

we go in May and Oct every year

Early May seems to be so much less busy as it comes on the heels of a very busy April season. We have gone too many times to count in April, and just once the first week of May for my sister's wedding. The week in May was a wonderful respite from the crazy April crowds.
