Anyone been to WDW in Sept? How is the weather/crowds? which is better...sept or feb?? :confused3

We have been there in September and it was very nice but you just can't count on the weather or the crowds anymore. All year long is pretty much the bet and with all of those strange Hurricanes and wierd weather you can't plan on that iether. So, your best bet is just pick a date and GO FOR IT! Usually in September it's still pretty warm in most cases so plan on warm weather clothing for the most part. HAVE FUN!

February is definately cooler and has less chance of rain. The crowd level seems to be about the same depending on the dates. September is also a nice time to have hurricanes hit.

I have gone the second week of Sept and the first week in February.

September trip: no hurricanes...actually not much rain at all...but mid 90s and very humid. The crowd levels were good. I think the most we waited was for Splash but for most others 15 minutes at the most.

February trip: It was mid to upper 70s the whole week and the lines were even less than they were in September.

Thanks for the info. Boy, now I'm kinda leaning more towards February. I never even thought about hurricane season...even if there is no hurricane the chance of rain will probably be greater. See, it just goes to show you that this board is very helpful...others bring up things I never thought of!

If you pick Feb. just remember that the weather can be to cold for swimming if thats a big draw for your family. Also if you pick Feb don't choose the dates on or around Presidents Day. The crowds other than that holiday is great with no wait times for the rides. :thumbsup2

Our family went last September. The weather was not too bad...every day there was a rain shower in the afternoon but we pulled out our rain poncho's and continued on.
My kids LOVED the waterslide at the hotel so we enjoyed having weather warm enough to swim everyday.
The thing I really noticed was that the lines were NONEXISTANT with the exception of Soarin which was fairly new. Event hough we waited for Soarin, it was only about 20 mins. Of course we went during the week when the crowds would be less anyway.
I have been all other times of the year and September was definately the best. We have actually just booked anouther trip for September this year.

My trip is also scheduled to be in September. Now I was wondering when does Disney starts decorate the park with Halloween theme? (around what dates should I expect seeing pumpkin's, etc.)

September is HOT in Florida. So if you like HOT, it's not bad.
Hurricane season is very unpredictable. We made an emergency departure in 2004.
Crowds are billed as "low", but heck, it's DISNEY....there will always be people around.

Early February, it can be cooler, but if you are going with kids, they are less likely to be concerned with cool as they are with hot. If you go around President's Day you will spend most of your time waiting, but heck, it's DISNEY ....it's worth the wait!

I have found that you can do Disney for less $$ in September between Disney specials and airfare.

My opinion - I prefer Disney in the first 6 months of the year!

September is HOT. It is humid and sticky all month. But the crowds are great...there are none! I haven't gone in Feb, so can't comment. Not that you asked, but another great time to go is early November. The crowds are low and the weather is nice.

I never have been in February. But September 2001, we had very low crowds, a tropical storm was coming in the day we left. The only thing that would worry me is the increase in strong hurricanes. I thought the temps were fabulous.

September is peak of hurricane season and theyre predicting another crazy one! Ive gone at the beginning of Jan (on the tail of New Years) and right after the Daytona 500 race. We had great warm weather the one time in Jan, but crowds were just starting to taper off. The Feb trip we had cool weather and crowds were heavy due to people coming over from the race, and being Presidents Weekend. Both times it was chilly at night. Swimming was out of the question for us both times. As the others have said, if you dont care about swimming and cool weather, than Id go with Feb. Sept for us is down right miserable with humidity and afternoon storms (another thing to think about).

Sept has been hot for us, but fairly low crowds. Actually we really like going for Labor Day...the crowds just dwindle after the big weekend. We've not had any hurricane problems, but I guess you never know.

We have avoided Dec/Jan/Feb...Florida weather can just be a little too cold and for us midwesterners.

Our 2 cents...have fun!
