How big of a pot roast to feed 8?

I'm having my mom & dad's bday dinner on Friday and am keeping it easy with a pot roast in the crock pot. I'm used to cooking for 3. How many pounds of pot roast do I need foor 8 people?

I guess I usually buy a 3 to 4 pounder and we have leftovers. Should I just buy 2 and send leftovers home with dad so he doesn't go hungry since my mom is headed out of town on Saturday

My mom always told me to use the "Rule of Uncooked Meat" is that a half pound will serve about one person. I always round up and add a pound or pound and a half just in case. Like you said, send leftovers home with Dad so he can eat

We usually cook 5 lbs for the 5 of us and have leftovers because we like leftover roast beef, unless the boys are really hungry and then we don't have leftovers.
