Ok, I know there are some Utahns here and I'm hoping you can help me. How big is Disneyland compared to Lagoon? I am hoping to get some kind of an idea of how far apart rides and lands are and how much more walking there is around Disneyland.

I'd say they're pretty similar in size, but it feels like you do a lot more walking in Lagoon. Perhaps its just because there is much more to see visually in Disneyland.

Wow! I was expecting that Disneyland is at least half as big again but I guess Lagoon does have a lot of wasted space. We got season passes this year because we couldn't swing Disneyland this past winter. Every time I go I wonder how different Disneyland is since it is all themed. Lagoon is just not decorated in any fun way at all. Thanks for the qwick answer.

I agree that DL and Lagoon are about the same size, but add in CA and it doubles. I used to really enjoy Lagoon...and then I went to DL. There is just NO comparison! :cloud9:

Looks like I'll be spending my B~day in Lagoon next month ~ I'm not super excited ~ too hot, too many people and it's not Disneyland! I haven't been to Lagoon since Oct. 2005 and I live 15-20 min. away.

So TRUE!!! I went to Lagoon about a month after my first DL trip about four years ago and my entire family and I were so disgruntled. And this summer I've been twice to Lagoon. The second time I went we were done going on all the rides around 5, after getting there at about 11. Its sad. Wicked is pretty good, though. Lagoon just lacks magical touch and detail.

My family and I are also spoiled and can no longer go to Lagoon without comparing it to Disneyland. Don't get me wrong, but the park is just not as clean and definately not as child friendly. I would also agree with the pp that said double it for DCA size. It's too bad that it just isn't laid out like Disneyland. Hope you have a wonderful time at Lagoon, and just remember that you will be visiting Disneyland again, and hold on to that thought throughout the day. Happy Trip!

:thumbsup2

It is really not fair to compare any park to Disneyland, especially when the detail and magic are big factors. That said, it is basically impossible to not compare other parks to Disneyland.

I don't know anyhting about Lagoon but if it has any big coasters that is cool, I love me a big, non-Disney type rollercoaster!

Some of Lagoon's coaster are the usual fair you find at any amusement park, but there are a few that are quite unusual and fun. The newest, Wicked, features a completely vertical ascent, a 180, and then a vertical descent before the ride cascades into the main part of the coaster. There's also a coaster, The Spider, where the vehicle is free spinning while it goes around the track.

Oh it's exciting to hear from people with knowledge of both. I haven't been to Disneyland since I was about 12 or 13 and no one else in my family has gone. All my kids love Lagoon but I can't wait for Disneyland. Part of the reason we got season passes this year is because I wanted my kids to get used to the idea of waiting their turn in line and walking around. Kind of like training wheels for the big one. ;)

Wicked is awsome, isn't it? I like Rattlesnake Rapids too but have only been on it once this year because it is so out of the way. :sad2: I think I've been 9 times so far this summer and for any of you Utahns that want a cool hint about Lagoon . . . get season passes in April. You'll have great weather and much shorter lines. Of course it's still not Disneyland.
