how big are lunch portions at le cellier?

we are pretty big eaters and i've been reading that everything is smaller at lunch. i understand that, but then i saw something about a 4 oz filet mignon and that is just way too tiny for either of us. can someone confirm this? how big is the new york strip?

I'd say the NY strip was about 10-12 oz? It was a nice sized steak. I got the cream cheese mashed potatoes with it... not a huge portion, but a nice scoop. I didn't finish the steak, but we were on the deluxe dining plan, so there was a lot of food.

I HAD to reply...just back and we did LeCellier lunch. We are a family of 5 big eaters. They have an option where you can pick one of 3 appetizers, mains and desserts. Since my 3 kids (17, 14, 12) all wanted the burger they all ordered from that menu, I had the Fillet and hubby had the skillet. A little background...the 12 year old watches man vs food and is a boy ...'nough said. Kiddies all got the cheddar cheese soup as appetizers...it was sooo rich, they couldn't finish it especially with the bread basket wich was refilled lovestruc pretzel bread!!) So the waitress says no-one has ever finished a full burger and fries - My son says "Challenge accepted!" He struggled through the burger and only partially made it through the fries. Like I said I had the fillet and it was amazing!!! After a few bites of the cheddar cheese soup and the steak meal...at lunch no less, no one ate again that whole day!! We ended up saving our coun ter service options for the day! Sooo filling!!!

Yes lunch is smaller than dinner and dinner isn't that big.

We love LC, but we know when we go to DINNER there will be a snack afterwards, usually within an hour or so.

So as big eaters if you want to go, know you will most likely want something afterwards.

Just order more pretezel bread sticks and you will be full. I love those things!

DBF and I shared a bowl of soup and the filet at lunch and between that food and the pretzel bread we were too full for the maple creme brulee we had planned to order!

The filets that DH and I had for lunch had to be at least 6 oz. I couldn't even finish my plate and only had like 3 bites of dessert because I was so full. I don't think the portions are small at all.

Portions are pretty small. We are not big eaters- usually share a meal and almost finished mine which is VERY rare.

I would not plan on sharing there and larger eaters will need an app or dessert.

Creme Brulee was large, moose is pretty small.

Mussels was a large order but not good to me.
