Hi. First time poster, so please bear with me. Have gone to and stayed in Disney World a number of times but never needed special room requests other than most basic stuff. This time I will be staying at the Beach Club-Garden View, and requested at time of reservation, ground floor with patio (medical reason) lake side of resort. Can I call the Beach Club directly to reenforce these requests? How many days prior should I do it? What number should I call? Thanks.

You should call whoever you made your reservation with to double check that it's on your reservation. If you used a travel agent, call them to add it to your reservation. If you booked through Disney, call 407-W-DISNEY. The Beach Club's main number will take you to a call center.

Having your request noted on your reservation is about all you can do (and then mention your request at check in). All resorts have a phone number listed for them individually, but calling that number does not get you the actual resort. Calls are answered as if you are speaking to someone at the front desk of that resort, but you are actually routed to a call center and are not speaking to the resort itself.

I have a request attached to my current reservation. If we want a specific building @ GF, should I call and have that added to my rez now or wait til i do the online check-in and put on then?

Our last trip my wife had asked if we could be on the first floor at our hotel due to the fact our daughter was having major knee surgery the week we got back due to blowing her knee out in gymnastics. When we arrived, they could not grant our request. Were we angry, no. Were we disappointed, of course. We were there at a very busy time. I wish for medical reasons that there was someway of getting it guaranteed. Just go knowing it may not work out. Here is to hoping in your case it does! Sending good vibes your way!

You cannot make requests at online check-in, that is for another purpose. Call CRO.

You may not want to do online check in if you have a very specific request. The rooms they typically assign for online check in are the ones that happen to be available. I've had better luck getting my requests met when doing normal check in at the resort.

Also, if you do online check in and don't get your request met, it will take longer, as they will have to void your room assignment and re-do it to meet your request.

Your travel agent or yourself should contact Disney and note your room requests and then send the request again by fax or by phone within a week of check-in. Typically medical reasons will be honoured unless it is a busy time of year. Good luck!:)
