we are supposed to leave friday for CA, but now they are saying a big storm is coming in friday night and sat. Our dl days are friday night and sat, then drive home on sun-we are in AZ. how bad will it be this weekend with the rain, or should we just cancel out trip?

With your trip as short as it is, it would make me wonder. We'll be there Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon and are not worried about one day of rain.

How flexible are your dates? Are you locked into a hotel reservation? We had this same dilema a couple weeks ago but the weather completely changed to sunny skys a couple days before. Not sure about this one, :confused3 weather channel says an inch over saturday of rain expected. That's a bit more than I would want to trudge thru.
But if you decide to go obviously bring rain clothes, ponchos and the like. There wouldn't be any fireworks and parades, a few attractions do close down in inclement weather. But on the plus side it should be fairly empty. SoCal people scatter in the rain :goodvibes

Keep in mind, that if it's rainy, and attendance is low, they will probably close Disneyland at 9 p.m. on Saturday night (instead of midnight). Our friends were there during what was ridiculously light rain on a Saturday a few weeks ago and they started announcing closure around 6, "due to inclement weather" and they could see the stars overhead...so go figure! That is something to factor into your decision, that the hours may be shorter than you expected, if you were trying to pack in a lot over the weekend.

We're arriving on Saturday afternoon, and have our eye on the forecast too. But will be there until Wednesday so hopefully it won't put a damper on our trip. The weather is looking super after Saturday's storm.

Are you looking at weather for the right part of CA? The weather varies greatly for our Northern half to the Southern half, it's forecast to rain a lot up here but down there it might not be.

I think the problem is, you never know until the weather gets there. Sometimes they predict inches of rain and barely anything hits where you are. Sometimes it is like a monsoon. With the dates you have, I might seriously consider postponing the trip if you can. We are scheduled to be in the park Friday-Tuesday, with an option perhaps put in a few hours on Wednesday if we need to, so with that flexibility I don't mind. We'll just play it by ear :)

We were there 2-1/2 years ago and woke up one morning to rain. We are from Seattle, so we were laughing at the people in their ponchos that we saw from our room before heading to the park...haha! What a bunch of wimps in their ponchos...we don't use umbrellas in Seattle (lest we be mistaken for tourists) so we were certainly not going to balk at a little SoCal rain.

So out into the rain we went. And then we turned straight back around and bought ponchos. It was POURING.

We went off to the park anyway and were soaked, and kind of miserable.

I can't advise that you cancel your trip or not, but I will say, it can really come down hard in Anaheim and we were not prepared for that. I think it depends on your tolerance?

The parks were practically deserted though, that was nice.

im hoping it doesnt pour down rain either! we will be there on fri/sat/sun. so im gonna battle out the rain either way. just have to have my ponchos ready! oh and i read on another thread that its a good idea to bring a towel with you to wipe down the ride seats. that way your but doesnt get wet. lol
Hope you have a good time! Maybe we will be the only ones in the park. :)

Woo hoo see you all then! We're from Oregon so the rain is no dealbreaker for us. We play in the rain all the time! Nice weather would be better but you can't change what you can't change.

PS If it's really wet out, I think going on the wet rides would be fun...why not get totally soaked then go back to the room and change...or back to the pool LOL!

We were there Friday night in the rain and if it was just me, it might have been a different story, but with two 4 year olds- it was pretty miserable. But I just wanted to say that the fireworks will go off in the rain. We stood in the middle of main street in the rain watching them Friday night :)

Heck I'd just go anyway. BRING ON THE RAIN!! That means no lines and no crowds. If it's warm out then who cares if you're wet :)

The forecasted high for Saturday is only 59, so being wet is probably not going to be too pleasant. I'm going on Friday and hope the rain does hold off until Sat. like expected, because my 4yo and 9mo would definitely care if they got wet!
