How bad is the humidity in August in Florida? Went to Cancun last July and we scrapped most of our planned excursions because we just knew we would have completely faded!

Planning to go back to the resort to rest in some a/c when we do go next year, but just trying to ascertain if florida is as bad as mexico? :confused3

We can cope with the heat ok, it's just the loss of air.

Thinking now it probably is as there's only a few hundred miles between Cancun and Miami! :scared:

Any opinions?

we went last eyar and found it fine, we even got married in full wedding attire and were fine. I guess it depends on your tolornace. We flew to cancun after our wedding and spent a week there and thought it was fine as well

Humidity can reach 100% but the afternoon thunderstorms do freshen things up a little for a while.
If you take your time and take advantage of air conditioned shops, rides and attractions it's quite manageable. Get to the parks early and then go back to your resort in the early afternoon for a swim or siesta and then venture back to the parks in the evening when it's not so bad :)

I agree with Tim. I absolutely love the heat but found the humidity/heat combination in Orlando in August a little too much even for me. DH, bless him, did not cope well at all. The best plan for us was to do the parks early in the mornings, taking our time and strolling rather than route-marching. We then usually had an early lunch, followed by a rest at the pool or in our room and then headed back to the parks early evening when it was much more acceptable.

I'm very fair and really struggled with the humidity in August. The thunderstorms do freshen things up in the afternoon. As we like to hit the parks first thing. I found that once the afternoon rolled around I was really struggling.

On a positive note - the parks are open much longer in August. So, if you're happy to wait until later in the day to visit a park, you may find that you are okay.

This is exactly what we did when we went in 2007 and we are planning to do the same this year. It worked out great and the boys got a well deserved rest. If we ever got too hot or i noticed one of the boys were struggling we would cool down in one of the shops! ;)

Don't look to be open as late this year.
Last year MK opened until midnight on some day. This year none after 10pm
HS last year 10pm this year 9pm with some 7pm.
Thats if these times are correct http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/parkhours.php

We never have a problem with August weather but I know some do.
