How bad is Pearson right now?

I'm about to leave on December 2nd at 9:45am (hoping AC won't change the time again)

How many hours should I allow for check in? According to AC website, I should allow between 90 to 120 minutes. According to some people who work at Pearson, they say between 2 to 3 hours. According to security people at Pearson, at least 3 to 4 hours.

So which one is true?

If you get held up by customs/security, they might hold the plane for you. At least that's what happened to a couple of passengers on my flight back in September Our flight was at 8:45AM on a Monday so we showed up at 5:45 AM just in case there were lots of business travelers. We got through customs and security in about 15 minutes but the other guys who were late said they showed up at 7AM and there was a giant queue to go through customs. They didn't get onto the plane until 9:30AM. So much for getting to the airport early.

Seeing that it is a Thursday, I would say no later than 7:00 a.m.

Would you not feel better waiting at the gate than waiting in line at Customs wondering if you will make the flight?

Bring along a book or something to keep your group occupied.

Just wanted to add another Good Luck!!

As a quick aside for those that are going through Pearson on a connection to Fla...get a porter at Baggage if your connection is close - like ours was, 20 minutes
And spend a few minutes the day or so before you leave checking some alternate flight numbers and departure times...

We missed our flight..
But because I was able to present a couple of options for other departures right there at the gate, we were able to get seats to YUL, and then onto MCO. Detroit was another option.

Whenever I travel through work we are picked up at home 4 hours before our flight time. We live about 1.25 hours east of Toronto.
