:goodvibes I am trying to put together a trip for next May 2006 and I want to go the week before Memorial day. According to our school calendar it should work unless those dreaded SNOW DAYS kick in!! :cold: This year we lucked out and did not even have one!! I can't imagine getting that lucky again! ;) Wish I could go this MAY instead...Oh well...What I am thinking is booking as much of the trip before Memorial day as I can,but we may end up staying through that weekend.

Would you guys say avoid MK that weekend and do it at the beginning of our trip?? I think Sat we will rent a car and drive to Port Canaveral and eat at Grills and then watch the MAGIC set sail. :sunny: So we will be away that day anyway. I pretty much now my way around and can get around the crowds, but I have pretty much been in the off seasons and so this will probably be the busiest I have experienced too. With planning I think we can have a fun trip.

I am taking my Neice and Nephew for the first time with DD and I. Is Early June better than mid summer crowds?? I do know about Gay day too. That's ok.

How is Epcot & AKL on Memorial day weekend? How does this Holiday compare to other holiday times at WDW. Thanks for any help...I know it is a year away, but I plan early!! :teeth:

Really I need to be concentrating in my WDW/Cruise in October. I know crowds are good then. Love it! :earboy2:

You may want to do a "search" on these boards for answers as there have been several similar threads lately on this topic. Unfortunately, I can't answer your question as we are about to make our first memorial day trip this may. Again, try the search function with the words "memorial day crowds" and see where that gets you.

Maybe you can report back for us this year and that will give me and idea?? Although I have a feeling this year will be a bit busier with the 50th Anniv celebration going on...

Have fun! :flower:

We have not been during the worst holiday times, so I can't compare with Xmas or Easter, which I'm sure are much worse. The only holidays we've gone to WDW are Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. I would say that Memorial Day was the worst of those 3. We went to MK on the Monday of Mem Day Wkd, and it was not easy to walk around the park. There were "traffic jams" everywhere, and stroller-wielding adults ran into me all the time. Add the crazy heat wave that was present in Orlando that year, and we had weather that felt like the upper 90's to 100 degrees. It was not pleasant.
Thanksgiving on the other hand is about as crowded, but the weather is much nicer. Epcot can handle crowds very well, so I would suggest going there during Mem Day Wkd. Or you can go stay in a Universal hotel and use the Front of the Line passes.

Yes, please, everyone else stay at home...fewer crowds for us! :)

I am anticipating large crowds, but you go when you can go...
