How bad is Labor Day?

I’m talking about the day itself, not the weekend. I’ve actually never been to Disneyland on any holiday but I’m really wanting to go on Monday.

It’ll definitely be busy since the So Cal APs are not blocked but it’s not insanity. I’ve gone on Labor Day the last number of years.

Thank you! I’m fine with busy, I just wasn’t sure if parking/security would be insanity. But we plan to go at park opening.

I may go Monday at opening as well. I don't think it will be insane if you get there early enough. I went today from opening until 4 pm, and it wasn't bad at all considering it's a holiday weekend.

Personally, I would not go on LD even if they gave me free tickets.
And airfare.

Really? Why not?

It will be as crowded as it can get, perhaps even closing the entrance. During those crowded of times, just walking around the park is hard work. Your walking sideways in a tight sea of people and spending most of your day in a few long lines.
For us, it just isn't very fun.

I've been on Labor Day the last number of years and it's busy but it's not Christmas/New Years week busy with gate closers. Typically parking can become an issue in the late afternoon, but that's about it. So Cal APs are not blocked which means they are not expecting crazy crowds.

Last two years it's been EXTREMELY busy, IMO. After last year we said never again. It's easy for us to go anytime so we just won't go on this particular holiday anymore, as it will ALSO be the last day of Pixar Fest and people get fanatical about the "last days" of any special themed events.

I go about 2-3 times a month, and labor day weekend i would personally avoid, but granted I go a lot. If you still decide to go, get there at rope drop and utilize maxpass to the fullest. If you are trying to go in the afternoon, fughet about it

Also the last two days of Bugs Land. We might just go for the morning and “bug out” when it gets too crazy.

We went last year on Labor Day and it wasn’t too crazy (although it was crowded, more crowded than the Saturday two days earlier had been). I do suspect that the end of Pixar Fest and closing of Bugs Land will bring in some local APs who wouldn’t bother otherwise, so I expect this year to be worse than last year. A lot of my AP friends seem to think PTN is ending with Pixar Fest, so that may draw similarly misinformed people in the evening.

We’re likely to go over for at least a few hours in the morning.

We were there yesterday and today. Today was noticeably busier than yesterday, not sure exactly what that portends for tomorrow (we’re headed home tonight). I definitely noticed DCA seems extra busy- likely due to aforementioned end of Pixar fest and bugs land. Today around 10:30am DL gate lines were quite short- barely past the trees. DCA gate lines were halfway across the esplanade (both parks opened at 9am with 8am EMH at DCA). Park “feel” seemed more crowded at DCA as well.

Incredicoaster FP was gone by midday (though we got lucky and scored a cancelled FP for 5-6pm at 4pm). Tomorrow is also the last day of the AP Bring a Friend tickets. If so cal is unblocked I bet it’s gonna be pretty crazy.

Oh, I forgot about the bring a friend tickets. We saw tons of those last Sunday. Maybe I need to reconsider going...

I decided I'm going to be one of those AP's who is going to add to the potential craziness for tomorrow...with that said, I'll be there at rope drop! If it gets too much, I'll just go home lol I went yesterday and said my goodbyes to bugsland, so I'll avoid that area.

Yep I'm one of the locals who is going because it's the last day of Pixar fest lol.

I will definitely go early and use MaxPass!

I forgot about that, too! Still going though, my car is already packed up, ha ha.
