How bad is Journey Into Ur Imagination?

Being that I grew up with the original ride and Dragons were one of my favorites as a child the first time I saw Figment I was overjoyed. I still have my stuffed figment sitting in a place of honor amoungst my other stuffed animals...

I have seen all 3 Imagination rides.. The new one isn't horrible but the little kid in me cries every time i don't see the Dream Master and Figment on the blimp.

Actually the new one is pretty fun actually...

I am very biased however, many of my childhood memories center around DisneyWorld and seeing my parents as awed and happy as I was. Anytime the world changes parts of me hates anything different.

I know that might sound wierd ::MickeyMo

I don't think the new one is bad, it just isn't really good....compared to the original. And I wasn't a big fan of the original.

On another note, I don't think it is any shorter than the original. It is my understanding that the same "track" system was used and it was just the scenes that were changed. I am not sure about it in the sense that I would argue the point...maybe someone else knows for sure.

I love the original, the ride is still fun but some of the ride seems "empty" like they could've done more in some of the rooms. I love dark rides where there is a lot to look at instead of one or two things.

It's cute, but nothing I would wait in a long line for.

I don't think it's BAD, it just seems rather uninspired. It is, after all, the imagination pavillion so I would expect something far more....well, imaginative! It seems that they just threw something together without putting much thought into it. I liked the original one much better.

I completely agree! My greatest memories at WDW are from being on the rides with my parents and seeing how happy they were and what a great time everyone was having. Everytime something changes I worry that I won't have something to remember my parents by when they're gone at WDW. Wow, that's really sad :(

Definitely nowhere near as good as the original (it used to be one of my favorites!), but I don't think it's that bad. Not the best ride, but definitely not the worst either. :)

I will be in the minority here, I thought it was pretty dumb. Very short and just silly. And I don't mean silly in a good way.

They removed that part, yes.

I think it's an awful attraction now - and I liked the original a lot. It's basically a joke. I'm sure Walt is rolling over in his grave. It's not up to Disney standards by any stretch of the imagination...excuse the pun.

The first attraction reflected the epic scope then present in Disney attractions, while the second was the modern Disney of decent, yet underwhelming, and the current is more along the lines of the new Tiki Room. Mixing favorite characters/themes with new ideas that can't quite live up to the original. The good news is there is rarely a large line. I think it's only really a problem if you remember the original. Otherwise, it's a fun journey. Figment's Imagination is a fan site with video ride throughs of all 3 incarnations.

For all you "fond memories" types, I suggest taking the Undiscovered Future World Tour. Remember the upstairs play area that was replaced with the new ImageWorks? Well, as of last summer that area was a part of the tour. Many of the exhibits were removed, but many more have been running ever since. The tunnel of rainbow lights was still going (albeit largely burnt out). It was sort of creepy, yet brought back many good memories. Or you could always go to eBay to bid on an authentic ride vehicle...

I miss the old ride:-( I went on it during my trip in March and we waklked right on... but it really was awful.
