We planned and booked out trip to DLR in February, not knowing at the time it was the same weekend as D23. We chose the dates to go over DS#2 bday, August 20. So we will be in the parks the 20th-23rd (sat-mon). How busy will it be during the expo?

I am D23 and a true Disney Nut. I will not be missing a minute at the Convention Center. So, IMHO D23 should not affect the crowds in the parks. :tink:

YOu would think if there are any affects on crowds from D23 it would most likely be the day before and after the Convention. :)

Yes, the people who pay for the convention are going to spend the entire time at the convention, though most will tack on a day before or after (or more) to hit the parks.

Except for those of them that are locals and will be at work because they can go to the parks another time. This will make up a huge group of the attendees.

I don't think it will be too crowded during the daytime. I was at DLR during the Expo in 2009 since it fell during my birthday. I don't remember it impacting crowds all that much during the day, in fact the days were pretty light. However it did pick up and got pretty darn busy at night.

Thank you everybody. I think Monday the 23rd is the 1st non-convention day if I remember right, so I guess I should expect a busy-ish Monday.

Plus, as Hydro said, local APs come unblocked. The weekend should be OK..do they come unblocked on Sunday or Monday? But we are doing a couple days after the Expo on M-T and am really dreading the So Cal APs flooding in.

Fireworks crowds were nuts compared to crowds during the day!

The D23 Expo will not affect crowds during the Expo. On Aug 21 the SoCal AP holders will.
