How bad crowdwise is Thanksgiving really?

I went three years ago during Jersey week. I had been told by numerous people that it was a very busy week and crowded at the parks. We were able to get on rides without hardly a wait. I thought the weather was perfect and it was an enjoyable experience.

Due to the timing this year , we will be arriving around the week o f Thanksgiving. We are still working out pricing with our TA. But due to the kids school schedule, Thanksgiving week is better(along with everyone else ha). My daughter is in High school and it's better for her to miss less and Thanksgiving week , they don't do much. We had thought about going the week before, but her school usually has the important stuff finishing up the week before Thanksgiving.

So it is what it is. But I am curious how bad it will be? How different is it from Jersey week? Waiting in lines is horrible when its 98 degrees out...so I gotta believe it is much better waiting in a line with November weather.

We went for the week of Thanksgiving last year - the Sat - Wed leading up to Thanksgiving really wasn't bad at all (admittedly we stayed at Beach Club and spent most of our time between Epcot & Hollywood Studios - MK may have been a different story). We hardly waited for much of anything.

Thanksgiving day and the Friday after - those days were a bit crazy.

We did have to bundle up though - temps were colder than normal last year - it was 50s a fair amount of the time we were there.

I hope you have a wonderful trip :)

We did a last minute Thanksgiving trip last year. Went from the saturday before to the sunday after.
As PP stated it was CHILLY!!!!!

As for crowds it was not bad at all. We were at MK on thanksgiving day and had lunch at Be Our Guest :)

I would say the saturday night and sunday after thanksgiving you could see/tell an increase in people.

If it was warmer weather I would definitely do that week again!

Great. We are hoping to go sat to Friday. We were there the first week of December in 2010 and with Pop Warner crowds and being the lowest week for points via DVC it was packed.

We went from the Saturday before T'giving to the Friday after in 2008 & had beautiful weather only needing a thin jacket at night. It was very busy at MK on T'giving Day & overall the week was busy but horribly bad. We went again from the Sat. before T'giving to the day before T'giving in 2011 & had beautiful weather one again. That year we didn't even need jackets at all and while it was busy, it wasn't too bad. I, too, would rather wait in lines in cooler weather rather than go when it's hot.

Also, it's a great to see all the Christmas decorations!

Thats good to know! Hard to figure out what to pack. I know three years ago we went during Jersey week and my kids could swim in the pool but it was still cooler. Just beautiful weather.

I like it cooler. I am hoping at least for 60's. That would be perfect. But you never know I guess. We have had such crazy weird weather this year up the East coast.

That sounds good for crowds. I have talked to some and they made it sound like you could hardly walk around. It made me worry. But I guess I shouldn't. It is when I have to go..so it is what it is!!

Before the holiday it is lighter with increasing crowds and busy Fri-Sunday after Thanksgiving day from our experience. Mostly busy at MK, the other parks were still pretty good.

Unfortunately the weather is pretty variable. I would pack for 70/80 during the day and 50/60 at night. If it gets cool during the day, have a couple pairs of long pants and sweatshirts available.
