How bad can it be

We are thinking of going to Disney World Dec. 17-23. How bad will it be or will we beat the crowds. Thanks for your input.

We are leaving when you are arriving. According to the Unofficial Guide they are projecting that Dec. 17-21 to be peak wait times of 55-64 minutes, or a level 6 crowd level---out of 10. Dec. 22 says a level 7 or peak wait times of 65-74 minutes. Dec. 23 goes back down to level 6 and Dec. 24 goes up to a level 10, or peak wait times of 95 minutes or more. I certainly think its possible to still have a great time! Have a fantatstic trip!'

Not bad at all, I would think. DH and I were at WDW for Christmas and Christmas Eve last year and thought the crowds weren't bad. Disney thought ahead and opened more counter service/kiosks for food and drinks to handle the crowds at Epcot.

The year before (2004) we were there for 3 days including Dec. 18th (DH's birthday). Again, the crowds weren't bad at all (with the caveat that I NEVER go to the MK on Saturdays! ).

There will be plenty of people there... but not nearly so many as there will be the following week.

Have you been in summer? It was kind of like summer crowds... but without the heat-induced bad moods.

I'd be going then if my stupid school district hadn't scheduled such a stupid Winter Break.... stupid district...

Well it will be 3 more with you from the 18th-22nd .We don't really care we just want to absorb the X-mas feeling .

Disney still beats the mall crowds anyday in my book.

We went last year from December 16 - 25. I didn't think the crowds were bad at all from the 16th until about the 22nd. Then I noticed the crowds pick up. It really wasn't bad at all, but we got to the parks at opening. Crowds were definitely bigger by noon. I hope to go that same time again this year.
