How bad are the bugs at the Fort?

If there is anyone down there now or that has just returned that can tell me if the bugs(really the biting kind) are. We leave at the end of this week and just want to know what to expect. Thanks

They are nowhere near as bad as would be expected....although...I would spray a little bugspray below your knees in the evenings if your at the fort.

if you are going to be out past evening, bring bug spray, they aren't bad, but they are there...

What the others have said, they also normally spray for mosquitoes and the like, and since they have cleaned up most of the canals, it really isn't that bad. If you attract them, I would bring some spray, but I've never really had a problem.

The mosquitos are not bad at all. In fact, I really did not see many if at all but the Deer Flies are the PIA'S. Pesky little yellow biting flies in the early evenings mostly. They love legs below the knees. Bring some spray as they itch like crazy after they bite.
