How Bad Are Saturdays at MK?

I am trying to make my schedule for our trip but since we only have 4 park days it is a little difficult. One of the best days for our schedule would be to spend Saturday, Feb 4th, at the MK. I know it always used to be that you should avoid MK on Saturday at all costs but it looks like touringplans.com actually has Saturday listed as one of the best days to visit MK.

Has something changed?

It really depends on the time you go, one time we went and it was dead empty on a Saturday. And other times its full. I know that some Saturdays MK is open later and people from the other parks come and that makes it crowded. But I really dont think that its gonna be anything out of the ordinary for Mk when you go.

I belive Saturdays are more crowed due to the fact alot of people arrive that day and that is what they have been waiting for. To walk down Main Street and see Cindy's Castle...it is the dream. Due to the fact that Sat do have alot of people they usually schedule everything from Spectromagic, Wishes etc. They are not always on every night. Beginning of February is a nice calm time before the Predidents Holiday when the kids have off so it might not be too bad. I have always found it is more crowded toward the afternoon and evening earlier in the day isn't bad people are still checking in.

Friday is the usual extra morning hours day for Magic Kingdom now so I think that a large percentage of resort guests go on Friday. Supposedly, they then go to a different park on Saturday, making Saturdays ok for MK.

I was wondering the exact same thing. I always thought the MK was to be avoided on Saturdays, but the Unofficial Guide/Touring Plans lists it as a good day . . .

We are trying to narrow our plans down for 11/26 - 12/4 and I was planning on avoiding the parks all together on both Sat's, but now I'm thinking we might give one of them a shot.

We always try to avoid MK saturdays after our one experience, we turned a corner to go into fantasy land and hit a wall of people that was april may time. But every month is different.

Now that a hurricane has hit South Florida, there may be more people in Orlando enjoying a day off before having to go back to reality again. Also, since the temperatures have dropped, the attendance on Saturdays may go up.

As long as you are at the Magic Kingdom before park opening you should be fine. If possible, concentrate on Fantasyland (unless you don't have young children) and Frontierland and Adventureland. Far less people on this side of the park. Tomorrowland gets crowded very quickly.

I found that during the off-season, when Spectro & Wishes are only shown on Sat & one other day, that MK is busier on Saturdays. Other times when Spectro is on the schedule more often, MK seems fine on Saturdays.

I used to avoid MK on Sat like the plague, but my more recent experiences have been better (on season visits)

I have always avoided MK on Sat. It used to be said that Sun mornings were the least busiest at MK. For my upcoming trip in Dec (16-21) I plan on trying MK Sat morning (17th). Will leave for a break at resort - then go to a different park or maybe back to MK for Spectro and wishes - depending on how tired we are or how crowded it was. I have found MK is pretty crowded whenever I have gone - except for early morning. MK is smaller and does not handle the crowds as well as the other parks. I figured the only way to find out about Sat is to go try myself!

We have found that Sat is fine in the morning, by evening (after 5pm) it really does seem to be crowded. However if you are willing to skip the parades and fireworks in the evenings, the ride lines really ease up. One of my best memories is riding Splash Mtn as the fireworks went off overhead!
