Hi,
I have found sometimes the dealers won't go the extra mile in the service area and are bound by what their PC says... That is my experience anyway.
I assume you need the parts for a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid 4 Cyl 1.3L, which you should do compressor, the clutch, the coil and the receiving dryer all at the same time as that is what is recommended by what I read.
After a bit of googling (love that!) I actually found FEW places that had these. And a lot of info stated there usually isn't a problem on these models unless there was something else done that could have impacted it (prev work not done to spec, a hit to the car etc..)
Now I am not familiar if the cost of these are in line with what you were quoted but I found them at this site.

They have the additional parts available too with discounts if you buy them all.
Depending on if you can have it serviced by a non-dealer AC mechanic in your area - you could get this done before you leave by ordering the parts up front.
Sorry for the troubles you have had, sometimes it is best to take matters in your own hands and not put all your eggs in one basket. Some service reps at dealerships are great some are not. Most aren't paid by the job so they have no vested interested in getting your car in the door - independant mechanics are so they do more to get your car in.
And, I am not a mechanic so this is just my own humble research.
Hope this helps and if the parts are off base or wrong please disregard as I was going on limited info.
