If you are flying to Disney, how are you getting from your house to the airport? Please note why you chose your mode of transportation. We are looking at our options . Thanks! :moped:

It comes down to the $'s. Parking at O'Hare is $26/day in the garage at the terminal and $13/day in the remote lots where you may need to take a bus to get to the airport transit train to get you to the terminal. If the cost of parking is more then what the limo would charge when we do the limo.

This says it all. :rotfl2:

We got a good deal from a Hotel 1/2 mile from the airport.

For $79 we have a room for the night before, and we get to park in their secure caged parking area for up to 7 days for free.

Complementary transportation 24/7 to and from the terminal we are flying out of at DTW.

We've done something similar to this from Buffalo. Great for an early morning flight.

This upcoming trip we're driving and parking. I believe it will be about $50 for the week.

Oooh, some good ideas! Keep 'em coming! :listen:

I usually park at the airport. At PIT, it's $6.50 per day in extended.

When we go in the winter, if the weather is bad I will call for a town car.

We use the Crowne Plaza a few miles from MSP. Costs us $85 plus tax and they keep our car for the duration of the trip. It's great, we get to start our vacation the day before we leave and they drop us off right at the terminal. All we do is call them when we return and they come get us. We wouldn't do it any other way!

We always use a park and fly hotel. I'm not sure on parking prices but if you figure $10/day average that's $80 for a week if you fly out on the same day you fly back on. I can get the convenience of staying close to the airport, someone else driving you to the airport who knows the way and will drop you off right at your gate, someone who will pick you up near baggage claim, and a place to park your car. I've never paid more then $100 and one time it was $60.

Of course this is our best/only option since we're centrally located 3-4 hours away from Chicago or Minneapolis unless we want to pay big bucks for airfare out of a closer small airport.

Paying $90.00 for the room the night before, get a breakfast in the morning, and free shuttle to the airport (and back), while they let me keep my car there.

If we would have parked in a lot for the week we were looking at $60.00+, and then buying breakfast at the airport, which could run up to $20.00, so this way we start our vacation a day early (sort of), don't have to get up as early in the morning, and the price is almost the same overall!!!!

Just my husband and I so we're taking the T (subway in Boston). It's been the most reliable form of transportation to the airport so far. With kids, I'd have someone drop us off.

I see you're in MA. You can check out Logan Express and see if that's right for you. If someone can't drive you all the way into the airport, maybe they'll take you as far as Logan Express. At least you wouldn't have to pay for parking.

We drive to the airport and use the longterm parking. We use Avistar parking because we can reserve a spot ahead of time nad not have to worry about getting a space. It is very easy, even with two kids in tow!

I don't know where in Massachusetts you are, but I'm taking Logan Express. It starts running at 4:15 or 4:45 AM, which is "perfect" for my 6:45 AM departure - except for the having to get up at 3 part.

We have gotten to Logan many different ways. So far we have done...
1. driving ourselves and used central parking...ton of money.
2. drive ourselves and use the Economy lots...about $99 for a week. hard to find but there is a constant shuttle running.
3. dh has dropped me off and then picked me up (like that one..no parking worries at all)
4. used Knights limo service. About $120. A bit more than economy lot but didn't want to chance having to scrape snow off the car during winter trip.
5. Logan Express..dh has done it by himself but it isn't cost efficient for the whole family...have to pay to park the car. Also, if your return flight gets help up, you may find Logan Exp. not running anymore!!! Happened to my gf.

But you can also do a hotel that participates in the 'park and fly' program. You pay about $100 (or so) and you stay the night before your flight. Then your car stays in their parking lot and you take a shuttle to the airport. This is a terrific idea if you have an early morning flight or a long drive to the airport.

One time we drove to Pittsburgh (1.5 hrs away) the night before and spent a night at a hotel - the hotel has park and fly service where you can park your car for up to a week in their parking lot and they shuttle you to the airport and back.

Since we pricelined the hotel, it was only $30 to sleep/park there. Great deal!

This time around, because the flight is in the afternoon and I still have to work that day, we're just driving straight to the airport and parking there. It'll cost us about $70 for the entire time.

Can anyone recomend a good hotel in Boston area that we can do park and fly out of?

We drive and park at the airport. We live about 1 1/2 hrs from the airport and parking is less than $10 a day here. We have thought about getting a family member to drop us off and pick us up but several of them are on vacation right now so it just didn't pan out.

We live on Long Island about 10 minutes from the airport. Since we live in the Town of Islip, we get a town sticker that we pay $40 for 2 years. Park in the town lot, leave truck there, when we get home we are back in the house with 1/2 hour of landing.
