For those of you out there who are wanting to lose wight how are you doing it?

I started out when my hubby left at 209. I am now 173 just by eating better and incorporating a little working out in my routine. BUT, I've stopped losing, and I want to kick it up again.

What all are you doing to make it leave? I am open to all suggestions. I have another 33 I want gone by oct.

Lillian,

Congrats on losing 36 lbs. That's great!! I do Weight Watchers which really stresses portion control and healthy filling choices. A few suggestions.

Write down everything you eat to see if you are getting the correct number of calories and are eating plenty of protein and fiber.

Drink LOTS of water.

Pick up the intensity of your workouts. If you are walking or running, sprinkle in some faster segments. If you are doing weights, increase the amount you are lifting.

Sometimes you body starts to adapt to the changes you've made then you have to make some more changes to continue to see progress.

Good luck to you.

Congrats on your weight loss :thumbsup2 I've done great by cooking several WW recipes on Sunday, divvying them up into portion-controlled containers and then having that for my lunch and supper during the week, adding a salad or veggie along the way. I found that one of my biggest problems is just plain old eating too much, so having a properly portioned container for my meal really helps. My DD is doing the same thing and we trade meals so that we have a lot of variety. There is always something healthy to eat in my freezer now, no more excuses! And I started attending an aqua-fit class once a week - I'm awful at cross-training on my own and the class really helps and is a lot of fun.

Good luck with your future efforts!!

Congrats on your weight loss so far! Food journaling really worked for me. It keeps you conscious of what you're eating and when you're eating. Portion control is another ... I was surprised at how little a 1/2 cup of rice of pasta turns out to be. I also make sure I eat fruits or veggies with every meal ...

In terms of exercise, try changing up your routine like Cindy mentioned. Your body does adapt and become more efficient in how it burns calories once you develop a routine.

Good luck with your weight loss! Keep up posted :)
