We went to Disney for the first time last November and learned a few things (for us anyway) about the dining options.

We just booked another trip for November and I just made some ADR's. I based things on what was available that day and was close by to the parks that we planned. Our experience was not good with TS restaurants inside the parks, except for Epcot and we did NOT want any charcter meals.

Please tell me what your experience is with these places:
(ALL DINNER'S)

Wed - Kona Cafe (Polynesian) I tried Ohana but nothing avail.
Thu - Reglan Road (Downtown Disney)
Fri - The Wave (The Contemporary) Our favorite
Sat - Sanaa (Animal Kingdom Lodge)
Sun - Tokyo Dining (Epcot)
Mon - Boatswright Dining Hall (Port Orleans) OUr hotel

I like Kona, it' not my all time favorite but the couple of meals we have had there have been nice. Raglin Road is one of our favorites, I love the appetizers there and the shepherds pie is amazing. I have yet to try the others but from what everyone has told me Sanna is amazing. Going there next trip. Enjoy :)

Kona is one of our favorites! We're eating there twice this August.

Of those restaurants I can say:
LOVE Sanaa.
Raglan Road is good, but I actually prefer Cooke's of Dublin for the value and sit outside at the bar for happy hour specials.
Tokyo Dining is good.

Personally I think Kona is over rated (as are all the dining options at Poly) but so many people love it that you might too!
Haven't been to RR or Wave.
LOOOOOOVE Sanaa but I'll tell you up front it isn't for picky eaters, which there seem to be a lot of nowadays... My whole family thinks its great.
Tokyo is standard like you would get anywhere at home but it is not bad at all.
Boatwright's is surprisingly GOOD! Excellent service, food and atmosphere. A little known gem, imo.

You will have many wonderful meals, so ENJOY IT ALL!!

Completely agree. My MIL had a horrible time at Sanaa because she doesn't like spicy food. If you eat Japanese regularly, you'll agree that Tokyo Dining is standard.

THanks so much. At least it makes me feel good to hear that these are pretty good places. I know some places are going to be better then others but at least to hear positives things from people who have actually been there makes me feel better.

Also, we did check all of the menus and there was several things that we have to pick from. I was nervous about Sanaa but I saw a few things that I really wanted to try. Also, we have been to Japanese steak houses before and love the style of food. My son was wanted sushi but he's the only one.

Well, that's the benefit of Tokyo Dining over Teppan Edo - if you don't mind skipping the cooking show you can get food prepared in the same way at Tokyo Dining but also tempura dishes, sushi, etc, and I think the overall dining environment is nicer at Tokyo - much more calming.

FWIW, I thought Kona was good but not good enough to go on the must-repeat list. Do keep checking Ohana for late cancellations; it happens. And we like Boatwrights too. I am not a spicy-foods person (so Sanaa is probably not a good choice for me ;) although I do OK at Boma) so I was a little concerned but while several of the dishes do have Creole/Cajun spicing, the beef tenderloin medallions I had were awesome.

Boatwrights is great:thumbsup2 You will not be disappointed. The service and setting are wonderful and we really enjoyed the food.

I have always liked Kona. DH and I are trying Sanaa this fall. I am really researching the menu and DIS to get info on the food. Looking forward to eating there!

Kona is usually very good. My family and I ate at Sanaa for the first time yesterday, and we loved it! The biggest raves went to the Spicy Durban Shrimp and the Shortribs, along with the bread course. Fabulous!!!

I'm feeling much more confident that we picked better retaurants this time around. I just went on last night and had to change a few reservations but only the times and from a party of 6 to a party of 10.

Disney doesn't care if you make a dining reservation for 10 if you only have 6 in your hotel reservations, right? We have another group who just booked with us and we all want to eat together. I figured since it let me do it, it wasn't a problem.

No. Disney doesn't care that the meal reservation and room reservation numbers differ.
I should mention that the bread course "for two" was actually ample for four big eaters, along with entrees. We were far too full for desserts, even with that.
