How are the resorts?

Hi All-
We are heading down in April for the first time in 2 years. We have postponed this trip 3 times so we are VERY excited that it is finally happening. I am a bit out of touch about how things are right now. I have just started doing my research but was wondering if you kind people could help me picture what things are like. We are doing a split stay at WL and BC and I am just wondering how the resorts are. Are they crowded? Are the pools crowded? Is it easy to find? Easy to keep some distance from other groups? What about getting food...we only want to eat outside. Is it hard to get seated at Gyser Point or Beaches & Cream (outside). Really I am just hoping for an overview of things and any tips you have. As always, thank you so much for making this such a great community. It’s not often I feel like a total WDW newbie but I knew just where to come for some help :)

It sounds like you’ll be there for the Easter/spring break times. I was at WDW 3 times in 2020, and I felt safe. Mobile ordering on the app is great. We didn’t have a problem getting outdoor seating when we wanted. The outside seating area by B & C can be a bit crowded. We also ate indoors about half of the time. The pools at Kidani and BWV were not overly crowded. I would try to avoid Disney Springs on the weekends.

I stayed at YC in September and BWV in December, and neither was crowded to the point of me feeling uncomfortable (that said, sounds like pools are picking up because of capacity restrictions and an increase in folks traveling). I stuck to mobile ordering at QSRs for both trips, but I also used Mobile Order to get takeout at Ale & Compass and eat it back in the room (awesome - so delicious, and a good alternative to avoid eating inside with other folks).

Generally, walking around Crescent Lake was awesome - it was easy to avoid other groups, easy to walk to Epcot/DHS, and really nice enjoying the scenery. Have an amazing trip!

Thanks for the info! We check in 4/9 for 9 nights so I‘m hoping that we (mostly) miss the spring break crowd.

Thank you! We will definitely do Ale & Compass for dinner. Can you do Beaches & Cream take-out? So hard to picture hanging at that pool without Hurricane Hannah’s.

The Beaches and Cream take out window was closed in December (I guess they decided not enough room for social distancing on that sidewalk). I’ve heard some of their items are available inside at Martha’s Vinyard.
