I realize that President's day week is one of the biggies at WDW, but how about the week before? How early that week do the throngs start coming? We are wanting to go to MK on Thurs, but worried it might be too packed. Can anyone help with their expierence? Thanks.

Hi horsegirl. First, let me say that I too, am a horsegirl. We have 4 horses. 3 Quarter Horses and 1 Paint. It's nice to see another horse person on the DIS.

Okay - we have been to WDW the week before Presidents Day - it was 2 years ago. It was WONDERFUL as far as crowds up until the Friday before Presidents Day. Then the gates of h&%$ open up and it's more crowded, IMHO, than July 4th. Up until that point though, very low crowds. 15-20 minute waits max. Just beware the weekend prior to - or get out of there before then if you can. It's INSANE. We had lunch at Concourse Steakhouse on Saturday and watched one packed monorail after another go by. If you must be there during that weekend, avoid the MK like the plague.

Hey PamNC! Love Paints 1/4s! We have a pinto, an appendix, 2 arabs, a shetland and a mini! People think I am crazy to have so many horses, sometimes including me. Nice to know someone else out there can't pass up a beauty....I envy you being in NC, you must be able to ride much of the year. Winters are too cold now for my old bones to get up on my babies and slide around on the ice and snow many months of the year! :sad1:

We are coming in on the 12th and thinking of only doing 4 days of theme parks, plus weather permitting a waterpark. We are actually we may not go on the sunday we arrive and the friday we leave. So your insight is very helpful. We are thinking of just staying at our resort (OKW and enjoying it all day before we check out and head to the beach for a week). MK is my favorite, and we will go several times during the week, but I would like to go there on thurs our last day to get the EMH in the am, lots of splash and buzz! If we went to a park on Fri the 17th, we would skip a day in the week somewhere, but sounds like getting out of dodge before then makes sense. Thanks for the help! :teeth:
