How are the crowds at Aquatica???

We have premium APs and we have SW funcards. I have been toying with the idea of going to Aquatica but I'm not sure. There are 5 of us and I already bought funcards plus I have brand new premium APs with the free water park options. My kids ( 4,4, and 7) haven't been to a Disney water park. We are going to be in Orlando 4/10-4/22. I'm worried that about the crowds at Aquatica

We were there Easter Sunday, along with the locals and other spring breakers. It was crowded as we had expected but not more so than any of the other Disney water parks. Lines were very long at the Dolphin Plunge. Other slides were averaging 20-30 minutes wait. We went in late, around noon, and was able to snatch a seat in the shade by the Walkabout Waters...which was a blast for kids and adults. I thought the crowds was bearable given that it was a holiday weekend.

I drove by a little after 11 AM today - signs out "Aquatica at capacity....closed"

Sheriff's cars at the entrance lanes.... lots of cars stacked up and turning around.... lots of unhappy faces

If you're going....get there early....

I'd guess they would re-open the gates after some folks left....but your guess is as good as mine as to what time that would be....

We were at Aquatica on Sunday and when we left at 2pm they were at capacity. We have been twice so far and it has been very crowded both times.

If you do go, go early. Grab chairs, if you will want to be sitting later on. If not, you will not find one. The first time we went, on a Sunday we went to find chairs around 2pm and we could only find one chair free in one of the kids areas. This past Sunday we went and there were people laying on the ground because they couldn't find chairs anywhere.

Don't get me wrong - we love the park and will probably go again this weekend!

From the Sentinel. Mentions closings but that lines still not that bad, and how AQ is wreaking havoc on local traffic (as I found out at lunch last Friday, lol).

On the bright side, 500 more lounge chairs are coming!
