How are lines for rides during the Halloween party?

Is it like MNSSHP at WDW, where the rides are all walk-ons during the party? Are all of the rides open during the party?

I'm pretty set on skipping the party, but my husband wanted to know.

I haven't been to it, but last year the reviews were quite scary (and that wasn't necessarily the costumes!). I think there were huge crowds and queues for things. I think now they've stopped MNSSHP and the Terror Nights at the Studios, it makes it busier than ever. I know they have a limit on ticket numbers but I still think it will be very, very busy.

I asked about it when I was thinking of booking and the feedback I got back told me 'no' really. So, we are skipping it tbh. At 9 and 6 I don't think my children need to be at it. They'll be happy enough dressed up and being there during the day/the next day and having dinner at Cafe Mickey on the evening (although I don't rate it that much, but the kids love it! ).

That's just what I thought. I don't know why, but this one day at Disney has been more complicated for us than 10 years of 2-week WDW trips! I think knowing we have only 1 day puts a lot of pressure on it to make sure it all works out well.

The thing I keep telling him is that with the Halloween party, we're stuck with that date. With regular park tickets, while they cost more, if one of the kids gets sick or if we end up with complications that make it not possible to get out to DLP on Oct. 31, then we still have through the 2nd to see the decorations. The two big kids are now wearing funny hats instead of costumes, and the youngest is dressing up as Darth Vader now, and he's technically a Disney character, so I think we can get away with that on any day we visit while the decorations are still up and the party is still happening in the Village.

I think we're also shocked at how pricey one day is. $500 for the whole family for one DLP day. Our FL resident annual passes last year were $1700 for the whole family. Definitely experiencing sticker shock!

So much so that we decided if we were to go to the Halloween party again we would concentrate on seeing the entertainment that was put on. Fastpasses were available, but they ran out quite quickly. We decided not to go back for the Halloween party this year, but to have an extra trip at Easter instead. Tha Halloween party was one of the busiest I have ever seen the parks (and we usually do trips in August and have been to WDW and DLP for New Years Eve in the past!)

Wow, that is VERY good to know. I wonder, is the daytime on Halloween much better?

Violet I wrote a long reply last night but it has disappeared! Sorry.

DLRP isn't cheap for a short break but in comparison to what we're paying for WDW next summer for 3 weeks it's nothing. Paris is expensive when you're there too!

Fairly sure the studios are open until 9 pm on 31st so you could split with there and the village on the evening!

I think that's who Disney gets you! All of our WDW trips end up being long because the longer you stay, the better the value. But we always have a fab time, and I'm sure we will at DLP, too. I'm getting excited!
