How are Disney crowds now? (ongoing....)

Hey all,

There appears to be lots of threads that pop up now and then about the current crowd situation at DLR. I thought maybe we could keep a thread about crowds on an ongoing basis!

So if you are at DLR or were just there, please give us a sense of the crowd situation at the parks. Tell us the dates you were there with some added helpful information such as: How long were the lines for the big E ticket rides, did FastPasses run out, was Nemo a walk on , etc..etc.. Basically, tell us whatever information you feel is helpful for people to assess the level of crowds!

So with that said, HOW ARE THE CROWDS RIGHT NOW?

I was there on Sunday and I was shocked at the lack of crowds and lines! We waited 20 mins at the princess faire line to meet the princesses, walked right onto HM and a 5 minute wait for pirates. about 40 mins on indy!

Last Wednesday it was very crowded at DL, but okay at DCA (except for TSMM). We were there from 10-6 and went on everything we wanted. We lucked out at 5pm with a shorter TSMM line and even went on Screamin' 2x.

I was there last week as well and Disneyland seemed VERY crowded to me. The waits for Indy were 75 minutes and 65 for Splash. Pirates and HM were very short. 5 mins. Same with Big Thunder most of the time. Lots of things were breaking down though as well. Splash was down one day and space broke with us on it. TSMM broke on Wed before the park even opened and we had to wait almost a half hour before we could ride it. Thunder broke on our last day. It seemed quite a bit of things were going down for such a busy time of year. As I said the BIG rides had really long waits but I guess they weren't the 2 hour waits that one would see during a "normal" summer or during Christmas or whatever but it definitely was not walk-ons either.

And there was DEF a lot of people in the walkways and at the fireworks etc.

DCA didn't seem too crowded but then it never really does to me. We were able to go BACK on TSMM later in the day and only had to wait 40 minutes to ride and that was on that same wed. Tower had about 30 min wait most of the day. I am not sure about Soarin as we always used our FP but I think it was about 40 mins or longer. GRR also had quite a wait but we also used our FP.

So not TERRIBLE waits but def it was not desserted either.

We were there on Sunday as well. It was amazing how uncrowded it was. We got to Mickey & Friends around 9:00 and there was no line at all.

We waited about 25 minutes for Indy. We had lunch at Hungry Bear around 11:30 and Splash was only a 25 minute wait, with a FP return time of 12:15. After we ordered our food, DH went and got FPs so we could ride after lunch.

We headed over to DCA early afternoon and rode TSMM - that was about a 40 minute wait.

It's pretty crowded in the parks right now, even DCA. When it's crowded, I just like to take it easy. Get some fastpasses, watch the shows, take the train, and eat munchies! But even as crowded as it was, I had a nice shady spot when watching the Play Parade. And it's still good to know that rides in DCA like King Triton's Carousel, Orange Stinger, and the Golden Zephyer have no waits at all.

Yep, we are hear right now and it is crowded We arrived on Sunday and the crowds were light in comparison to today. I thought it was suppose to get less crowded as the week goes on not the opposite Oh, well, we are having a great time despite the crowds!

Ooh, maybe everyone now goes on Monday thinking the crowds will be better than Sunday thereby making it crowded on Monday! I'll be there next Monday.

I will be ther on the 2nd...WHOOO HOOO....9 days!!!! we are tripping through San Fran and 2 days at Legoland before heading to Disney

I was there the 6th-12th and the crowds weren't as bad as I expected for July.I overheard some Cast Members saying that it was less crowded then usual also.

Waving to the other two people who were at DL on Sunday. The park was empty! It was PERFECT!

Now, the other days were complete madness. It's July -- hot and busy.

We were in the parks these days:
Saturday afternoon, July 19 in CA
Sunday morning, July 20 in DL
Sunday lunch and evening in CA
Monday July 21 DL all day
Tuesday July 22, DL 9am – 2pm

Every time we were there it was packed, hot, crowded, busy, hot and mobbed. Oh, did I say crowded? Except Sunday morning which was amazing. Light, light crowds and cloudy and cool. Aaaahhh. Heaven.

by the way, when you say "hot"... what temperatures are we talking? the forecast is low 80s for the days we're there. that sounds downright cool to me. we're from arizona.

OOOHHH I hope Sunday the 10th is slow too! It is our first day in the park and I have it packed with things to do and see! I'm going to expect big crowds and hot days so i can be happily surprised when it isn't!

^^^ It's been mid-80's but humid. I'm from San Diego and the weather didn't bother me at all.

The crowds were nowhere near what I've experienced in the past July trips I've made. Two of my ART drivers said they cut back on service because the ridership is far below what is normal for Summer.

We are here now and I would not call this weather hot and far from humid! We are from Houston and know humidity . I actually wore a sweatshirt this morning and in the evenings too. I never once broke a sweat, very nice breeze all day too. Sunday was very slow but the rest of the week the parks and DTD were a mad house. We did make it to MM this morning and that was amazing. We were the first on Peter Pan, the first on Dumbo (only us riding), the first on Teacups (only our family riding too) Had a wonderful morning--would highly recommend Magic Mornings

^^^ Heat and humidity, it's all relative ;-) We rode Splash at 8:30 yesterday morning, got soaked, and still thought it was warm. Then again, we're used to single digit humidity so the 50-60% throughout the week took its toll on us.

Coming from a desert climate, the humidity gets to me. I couldn't stand Houston or Orlando in the summer -- Anaheim is humid enough for me.

It was mid 80's this visit and anything mid 80's or above is hot to me. Standing in the sun is torture, shade is tolerable. I've been at Disney in July when it was over 100 and we still managed to have fun, but it's still hot and it's summer, so it's gonna be hot. We did actually wear our sweat shirts one morning and one evening, so I'd say the weather has been quite average this past week, not something to worry about. I think they had their heat wave in June this year.
