How are crowds with pass holders blocked?

Anyone able to compare crowd levels before and after many pass holders were blocked? If so, how do you think it compares to previous years? We were last there the summer Carsland opened and I'm trying to get a sense of how the crowds are relative to that summer. Thanks!

We were there June 22nd to 26th. June 26th was the first day all so cal passholders were blocked out and it was the busiest day we were there. Difficult to walk around. My daughter wanted to ride Dumbo so we crossed over to DL from DCA about 8:30pm. I stopped for about 5 min in the photoshop. Other than that we went to Dumbo, waited through one full ride then got on. Then walked back out of the park. It took us until 9:45. The rest of the time was navigating the crowds.

I think that was just a timing thing, DL does get harder to navigate during nighttime shows, especially since there are 2 new shows for the 60th.

I was there June 30th through the 3rd and the crowds were not that bad. Better now than a few weeks ago for sure.

It was partially timing, I'm sure. But my husband and I hopped 2 days before that around the same time and while it was definitely different at 8:30pm vs 8:30am, on June 24th we managed to ride Star Tours, cross over to Indy (where we got a return time as I needed a scooter), check on pirates which was down, check on Big thunder which was also doing return times so we shopped for 20 min waiting for the Indy Return time and then road Indy. So definitely a difference in crowds during those two days.

It felt more crowded and hard to navigate all day. I just highlighted the night-time difference.

See, I was at DCA only on June 26 and I felt the crowds were much better than they were a week before that when grad nites and all APs were there. I'm not sure how DL has been, but my experience was that DCA was very reasonable, except for Grizzly River Run because it was a hot day.

Interesting. We were only in DCA for a short while in the evening of the 26th (plan was to switch to DCA after naptime but little bit really wanted to ride Dumbo and it was our last day so we just did Toy Story, Ariel, and Mater before attempting to switch back to DL). I commented on the fact that by reports it should be less crowded but it seemed more crowded and others in my family agreed. However we may have experienced a bit of a pre-WoC surge and it may have been better earlier in the day.

My comparison was also to just a few days prior when so cal select APs were already blacked out and there were no grad nights. So it may just be that the whole week was better than your prior experience and Friday was just a little wore than the rest of the week but not as bad as it could have been.

I've had an AP since July last year and have been going regularly. We just had a one week family vacation from 28 June to 4 July. I had been worried about taking my family at that time, because it's been far more crowded this year than any other time we've ever been, so I was expecting the worst for this period. But I was surprised that it was not so bad! The crowd levels were definitely manageable. There were times that it got pretty busy, but overall I don't think it was so bad.

we were also there June 29-July 3 and thought the crowds were very manageable. Better than when we went in mid august (midweek) last year as well as before Xmas and during Tink 1/2 marathon weekend (Fri and Sat AM). I was hoping this would be the case as I recall reading last year that people were commenting that the week before July 4 was not so bad compared to earlier and later in the summer.

We were there June 27 - July 4 and agree that overall crowds felt reasonable compared to our previous couple trips. The crowds in the evenings at Disneyland were not something I always had a lot of patience for though. Ride waits were often very reasonable if you didn't for instance pick the middle of the afternoon to ride Space or Splash Mountain without a fastpass. For some perspective though, our last trip was Dec 30-Jan 2, and the one before that was Sat-Fri Thanksgiving week. Pretty much anything short of a 24-hour event tends to look reasonable after that. :)

Sounds like the crowds got better after we were there. We probably picked the worst time to go in June. We were there June 2- June 5. There were three Grad Nights when we were there and it was something else! Not to mention they cancelled the fireworks two of the nights we were there which made us miss WOC and because of Grad Nights there was only one showing of that in the evenings so we didn't get to see that. It was very disappointing! There was a lot more I wanted to get done but just wasn't able to due to the crowds and Grads.

We were just there from July 2-5. We felt that the crowds weren't too bad. We were expecting it to be much busier on the 4th and the 5th was actually rather lite.
