How are crowds now with free dining plan??

We are leaving in 6 days and I too am interested to know what the crowd levels are like.

we leave in 8 days from now. I ask myself the same question. Some say it won't be that bad. I am more worried about the 3 threats that are now forming in the atlantic ocean right now, I am watching them closely. I think if the parks are crowded then we can adjust ourselves and still enjoy ourselves tremendously. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a reply to another post asking about crowds. One person said their family is there now, and they said it wasn't crowded. Another person just got back and said it wasn't crowded as well. So hopefully, we'll be okay. :goodvibes

NO crowd 2 weeks ago when I was there it did start to pick up on thursday afternoon for the holiday weekend but still not bad.

If you haven't done so make your ADR's I saw many ppl turned away at dinner nightly cause they had no ADR's and didn't want to wait. Many others was on cell phones at dinner time looking for a place they could get ADR's for that night and it was already supper time. All of them was very frustrated.

Luckily, I made my ADR's. However, when I've tried to change some, I haven't been able to. They are fully booked up!!!

We were there last week. The parks were empty. We got every ADR we wanted. And we changed some on the day of the ADR. EMPTY.

Did I mention that the parks were empty. We walked onto Dumbo. We walked onto every attraction at the MK. Dining plan or not, there was no one there. We saw characters with no one around them.

Just got back two days ago :( but only had one problem... we couldn't change our Tepannaki reservation to a little later. The concierge told us to just get there a little late and say that we couldn't get there on time. Other than that, we had ADRs and it wasn't a problem. We too saw people turned away who didn't have ADRs.

It was pretty empty... they even let us stay on test track and go again it was so empty. The only time we encountered any wait and crowds was during EMH... but it was amazing to ride test track after dark.

We just got back Friday 5pm. It was pretty much empty. At Soarin it said standby was 40 mins it was only 15 mins at 5:30pm on Saturday. We walked up to the 2nd monitor (the rain forest). The longest line we had was for the Kil. Safari first thing in the morning. It was taking them a little bit to get the trucks going. Other than that everything was great. Avoid ESPN Club on Saturday and Sundays due to football.

We are also going in one week :cool1: We are staying at the Shades of Green and their reservation agent told me that she has 200 empty rooms for the days we are going. I am not sure if it is the high cost of gas, hurricanes, time of year, etc. but it is a bit unusual.

Two of the three "waves" out there are supposed to go south of South Florida (where I live) so that should be no problem (according to my local weather man). I did not know there was yet another one out there. Living here in Florida has its advantages but I am ready to buy some land smack dab in the middle of this country. It is so stressful to worry!

I thought I posted this lastnight, but I can't find it now. :confused3

Something doesn't add up. If the parks aren't crowded, why is nobody able to get ADR's at their restaurants of choice? Maybe people are just eating and leaving?

I'm not saying that it isn't crowded, I'm just saying that empty parks usually mean empty restaurants.

We were there 9/3-9/10 and it was busy on the holiday weekend then it was dead. Only 1 or 2 cars in the parking lot that we parked in at POR. The food court was never busy. The parks also not busy . Went to MK on Thur. Splash Mountain 5/10 min. Thunder Mountain 10 min. Buzz 5/10 min. only thing with any wait was 30 min. for Peter Pan.Tues. Epcot Soarin 10/20 min. It did start to get busier on friday. We didn't go to a park that day but POR had many more cars in our parking lot.

Nah, they look like there's not much to worry about at the moment. The models for TD 17 have it going to the Atlantic, and the models for Invest 96L make it look more like a western Gulf storm.

The reason ADRs are now difficult to get is because more people are choosing to eat at TS restaruants b/c of the dining plan (free or otherwise). Here's an example. 100 familes are at WDW, without the dining plan only 50 families will eat TS. With the dining plan 75 families will eat TS. Without increasing the number of people at WDW, the number of TS ressies has increased. The parks are empty but restaurants busy b/c a greater percentage of guests have chosen to eat TS. Normally these families would have eaten just CS or off site.

I would say out of 100 families w/out the plan, 25 would choose TS, and the rest CS.
WITH the plan, 90 will try for TS.

I tend to think that people are making multiple AR's so that they can pick their TS restaurant while they're there. Not nice but I bet ya its happening.

I had made multiple AR's, but I was kind enough to call and cancel the ones I didn't need. I thought about others not being able to get AR's and how they must feel.
