Hi: Anyone that has been down to wdw during our canadian thanksgiving week, how were the crowds? I imagine the weather would be okay, but wondering about the crowd level if it goes up like it does around the american thanksgiving holiday.

Deb.

Hi Deb,

We were at WDW last Oct 9-16th, our Thanksgiving Monday was the 11th. The crowds were fine. Our longest wait the entire week we were there was 20 minutes. The majority of the time was under 5 minutes. Great week to go, weather was really hot! Rained only 1 day and about 20 minutes another day.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick reply,

I would love to go, wdw has this strange effect on me, drawing me back, like I cannot get enough of it. I am actually asking for friends who have never been to wdw before. I would like to have them go when it is not the busiest, they do not like to wait in lines, (non of us do) lol.

Isn't that towards the end of hurricane season??? Would'nt the weather be a little rainier? :umbrella:

I'm no expert, just a thought!!!!

We have been the last 2 years over our Thanksgiving. Weather was excellent. I was surprised how hot it was. It did rain one night which was our Halloween party night- so that sucked. I am going to say that our longest wait was close to 20 mins. also.

It was quite warm last Oct-We had to replace our MNSSHP costumes with shorts and Tshirts half way through the evening.

Couple of things to watch out for-US Columbus day holiday, Epcot Food and Wine Festival and MNSSHP nights when MK closes early.

With a bit of planning all will go well. We had a great time!

We love going in October and usually begin or end our holiday around Thanksgiving. we have been doing this for about 10 years. We have been at many other times and I also lived there for a year. Chance of a hurricane almost non exsistant. Threre is very little rain at the time of the year and in fact it is one of the driest months. temps range from 75-90, quite comfortable. Crowds are great for the most part. Things to watch for in the fall are Columbus Day weekend, busy but not that busy that you will be standing in line forever. The major thing to watch for is Jersy week! They have a week off in the fall, i do believe it's towards the end of oct. though. We have met a few nice people from there, unfortuanely we have found the parks to be over full of very rude and pushy people during that week. Boy could I tell some stories I've things we have seen that would shock you and suck the Disney Magic right out of your trip. We try to avoid that week now. Most people you meet are really nice, but it only takes a few to make a scene that sticks with you the rest of your trip.

Jersey Week ???? We're booked for Oct 16th to the 30th ... just how bad is it gonna be?

I do have not-so-fond memories of "President's week" ... had never heard of it until we were at MK one Feb, and I was 7 months pregnant ... let's just say it was not a MAGICAL experience! :sad2:
