how am I going to be able to do this without switching rooms?

I just called in 1 night of hopefully 9 nights using my points at BCV for a 2 bedroom on November 8th. I called at 9:00 and the only available room was the double queen room which MS said she would wait list me for the room with 2 pullouts since it would be more likely that I would be able to call day by day and end up with the room with 2 pullouts than the 2 queens for the 9 nights. Then she mentioned about the 3rd category of rooms which are the lockouts. It seems like with 3 category of rooms it is going to be very difficult to get one category for the full 9 nights without having to switch rooms a few times. Am I going about this the right way? Also, does it help to call throughout the day or is 9:00 really the only good time to call. Thanks!

Decide what unit type you want. The Dedicated 2 BR with a pullout in the second BR and the lockoff will be easier. Many prefer the 2 Q rooms though. Personally I'd call back tomorrow and see if I could get the 2 Q room for day 1 and 2 AND get a second unit of the other dedicated type. I'd do that until I ran out of points and given you're looking at 9 days, that should allow you to book 4-5 days with both units. By then you'll have an idea what to expect and can start canceling the unit type you don't want as you add the next day to your preferred reservation. That way you'll only have 3-4 days at the most to take a chance on and a much higher chance of getting any needed wait list.

Thanks Dean. I think I get what you are saying...now doubling up on points will take me until only ONE Tuesday. So, I would take it until Tuesday and then go into a borrowing status for the remainder? (I only have 287 points and we were going to end up borrowing for the last 2 of the 9 days.) I already have the points tied up for Saturday, a whopping 61! I wonder if I should cancel that one do I can double the reservation for longer. We really do not care what kind of 2 bedroom unit we get....lockoff, dedicated, doesn't matter...whatever is easier to get.

If you don't care, I'd stay with the dedicated 2 BR with the pull out as it will be easier to get and not fool with it otherwise.

I went ahead and did what you said. Nothing was available today (the last one was taken while I was on the phone). So now I am waitlisted for a second night at the dedicated room. I was wondering if I should cancel the waitlist for the 2 nights (2 seperate nights) and waitlist for a lockout. There are 74 lockouts and 53 dedicated 2 bedrooms. The lady I was on the phone with said that this is the problem with calling day by day is that you have different rooms in different categories and could be changing rooms all the time. I discussed with her about double booking rooms with points and she said that once you borrow points to do that you cant put them back but I have to borrow 64 points anyway. She suggested as far as double booking room that I should wait and see what happens tomorrow and Saturday.

I certainly wouldn't borrow points unless you plan to anyway. To a degree the lady is correct but that's a product of the system and no way you or I can control it other than calling day by day when they open and making sure you book in the same category. The alternative is you don't get a room or don't get the room type/resort you want, even worse IMO. You can always wait list any days you don't get anyway and for an 11 month reservation you'd have a great chance of getting any waitlist. Remember weekend nights are much easier to get. You can always wait list both if you want.
