How accurate is Resort Availability Tool

Curious as to whether there are any experiences out there where online Resort Availability Tool shows something different than a live MS person, e.g. MS shows availability when online shows no availability (or vice versa).

Based on the number of people posting here indicating how they were successful getting a reservation because of the Resort Availability Tool, I say it was pretty accurate. I expect it accesses the same database as online booking. But keep in mind reservations can disappear before you can book them even when checking for them online.

Agreed, it's very accurate from my experience. I've been watching the AKV concierge rooms over the last 4 months and have seen availability come and go on that tool within seconds - sometimes due to making my own reservation. (I was playing)

** Take note ** Do not pull up an availability search and then browse the resorts and categories expecting them to be up to date 10 minutes later, they're only in synch with the exact moment you pulled the search. Unless you're just looking for a general idea of what's out there, it's best to key in on exactly what you're looking for to make it quicker to browse through.

My experience is that the availbility tool is show live inventory. I wanted to move two room reservations one day and the tool said that day was open (of course, i could only see that the day was open and if both were). I called MS and he saw the same and moved both rooms. As soon as it moved, I could see the date onjust moved from open up on the tool.

It's 100% accurate at the instant that you are checking. Same data as the online reservation system or the system that MS uses.

Another success story here. I was playing around with it and was able to switch my AKV standard view studio to a value at 4 months out! I didn't even have the value waitlisted since I booked my original reservation at 6 months out and didn't think I'd have a chance at it.
