How accomodating is the ADR system for bigger parties?

This is my new freak out. I've got the ADRs "finalized" but now I'm concerned about the logistics of getting them for a party of 8. Legitimate concern or completely bogus?

I had a party of 7, party of 8, and a party of 6, each time I struggled getting the places I wanted, even calling right at 180 days (at that time) and this time 90 days. Certain locations have more tables for larger parties, for example Boma and other buffet places. I didn't have trouble at those kind of places. Le Cellier is next to impossible. I called yesterday at 6 a.m. central time and I was able to get Le Cellier (party of 7) but at 4:30, not my ideal time.

My particular party will be willing to break into two tables of 4 but that gives me a serious headache thinking of putting all that through the ADR system (there are two res. #s at least)

I don't think I would worry too much about it. We were accomodated at Chef Mickey's and T-Rex (I know...not a WDW owned rest) with a party of 10 with no problem.

Depending on the places that you pick there might be a couple that may have to do seperate tables possibly.

I did an entire week at the end of January with a party of 11. Even if they do 2 tables of 4 as OP mentioned, that would still be one reservation number. As a party of 11, we were seated at one table for all of our reservations except Sci Fi where we had two side by side cars and at Coral Reef where we had a table for 6 and a booth for 5, right next to one another.

I don't think 8 will be a problem, we've made reservations for 11 before no problem.

We've done a group of 9 (8/07) and a group of 6 (9/08) and haven't had a problem yet. Even places that gave us 2 ADR confirmation #'s (because they didn't show anything available to accomodate the entire group), managed to seat us together once we checked in (they can't guarantee it, but I have always found them to be most accomodating). HTH a bit!

A party of eight would more than likely be ONE reservation with two tables of four. Usually not a problem unless you want a very popular dining time and place. When you have one reservation but two tables, those two tables are 99.99999% chance to be right next to each other or even pushed together.

No reason to be freaked out about it. You don't face any hurdles anyone else doesn't already face (up at 7:00 AM Eastern, high expectations, etc.).

We're going in July and will be a party of 10...two families with 5 each. We have a grand gathering number, so when I book it will all be under the same number...I assume? If I do two parties of 5 under the same number and they seat us at two tables next to one another, will they automatically add the tip?

I just made my 90 day ADRs for a group of 8 on Sunday. Once I finally got through to a CM, I had no problem getting ADRs for all the restaurants I wanted within an hour of my plans. I got ADRs for 8 at Le Cellier, 'Ohana, Crystal Palace, Biergarten, Mama Melrose (Fantasmic package), and Coral Reef. You should be fine if you call at 90 days.

We were a party of 16 on the Dining Plan, and I dont recall having any problems. We had to compromise with times several times, but Id overall say they were very accomodating.
