Sorry. I am FILLED with questions and no longer afraid to ask!!!

How easy is it to find the characters for pictures? I think that my DD will be SO disappointed if we don't get at least one picture of her with a character!!

I notice that a lot of you have family photos with them. How were you able to get these pictures of your families without a whole bunch of other people congregating around? Does that question make sense? I know that everyone wants a pic and autograph, so does everyone form a line? I don't want to make any "promises" I can't keep to my DD. She has asked me if she can get her picture taken with one of them....(no one specific really....yet!)

We do have reservations for Garden Grill at 7pm.

Each character has a handler with them. They make sure (usually) that everyone stays in line. Some places, like Ariel's Grotto and the Toon Town Tent are specifically set up for lines. Your DD should be able to see lots of characters at all the parks (unless she's trying to see a really unusual one). You can even ask at the park where to find certain characters. Good luck!

The characters are literally all over the place, especially at the Magic Kingdom. Some are permanent greeting areas, such as the Toontown Hall of Fame at the Magic Kingdom or Camp Minnie-Mickey at the Animal Kingdom, while others are intermittent, such as the greeting that follows Cinderella's Surprise Celebration at the MK. The guidemaps tell you where most of them are.
Things are usually fairly disciplined - i.e. a line forms and your group gets the character all to yourselves for a short while to get autographs signed, pictures taken, hugs given, etc. Generally, the permenent character greeting areas are much less crowded and allow you to take a few seconds longer with the characters than those held out "in the open".
At the Garden Grill, you'll be able to take plenty of pics with Mickey, the chipmunks and Pluto. And the food is great, too :)

If you want a really nice family picture with Mickey Mouse visit Studio M at Downtown Disney. We were there in Nov and had NO wait. We were taken into a private room with the photographer and the Mouse himself and we "talked" with him for quite awhile, then had our picture taken. I believe you can choose from different backgrounds too. It looks great in a nice Disney frame.

I read on another thread that Studio M has closed. If so, I'll be so sad. We went there every year for a picture and our tradition will be over now:( .

Oh....I hadn't heard that! We really enjoyed it!

Magic Kingdom is where you will find most of the characters. They will be ALOT of them in Town Square, they will each have a line & they also have a Disney Staff person with them to watch for any line jumpers:p

Last month we spent from 11:00-12:30 & then on another day 10:30-12:30 just in Town Square getting autographs & pictures. We just went from line to line.

We met TONS of characters.

You can kind characters at MGM, Animal Kingdom & even Epcot too. If nothing else just ask a CM if you are looking for someone paticular & they can tell you if they are out or when/if they are going to be out.

HAVE FUN!

The lines were long for the characters. We got very lucky with no wait to see Mickey in MGM and had a very nice family photo done. Meeting the characters and getting autographs was about the only thing my 7 yr DD wanted do to so doing character breakfasts worked the best.

How sad to hear about studio M. We've been going for years for our annual picture. Don't know what we'll do now.

obnurse2003 you will not have any problems taking pictures with characters.

ENJOY!!!!

We were able to meet/interact with characters at MGM more easily than at MK. We saw Buzz, Woody & Jessie (from Toy Story), plus Kermit and Miss Piggy all within 5 minutes.

We also were able to get a good seat for the MGM parade with no wait. Several characters are in the parade.

Each park will list special character meeting times on the map you get when you go in. We were told that the characters (at MGM anyway) don't go out in the rain, but they all came out at the same time right after rain.

Remember there are character dinners/lunches as well as breakfasts. Epcot even has an ice cream social. You can also make PS's for breakfast before the park opens. That way you can get in early, even on a non-EE day.
