How about the ugly things we saw instead

We had a pirates game but were short so let some people we didnt know who said "I just want to help people" join after much trial to get another we knew.
The game starts and he starts shooting everyone and ruins the game for us.
Back to the lobby wait for the others and try again all because of one jerk.

With the way this crazy quest was set up, who can blame the "jerk" for trying to get his points any way possible?

A person who I though was a friend moved the teleporters in our friends hub so we couldnt just go to a room with water to get to the pool!

Same person after a anchor person was put in so people could just to go that room then blocked the exits. Nice one right :snooty:

Anyone else care to share some of their not so fond experiences?

lol i had the opposite! i quit the quest once i found out about the ridiculous POTC junk, but i thought i would play some pirates anyway....so i wait in line like everyone else, and when i finally get in a lobby it is boot city in every game i tried joining! obviously it was because teams were all set up for it...so let me get this straight--those of us wanting to just play some pirates should just leave the lobby and make way for the frenzied quest activity?? that's how i felt anyway lol! of course what you describe sounds like some jerk who was having fun at your expense which is not cool...

I did see a lot of what Aengus did on the docks though. One girl said something about please help me I really need to play pirates for quest. I told her we all did. Then something about, "I really need it though" so i told her she didn't need it more than anybody else. Another person later on mentioned working on a quest and I told her, "we all are dear". I think I tried to be very nice to people in lobbies. Sometimes I did get silently frustrated with the pleas because we were ALL doing the same thing. I did feel a bit bad that these people were alone, but I was helping people as it was what can you do.

lol i saw lots of that too....reminded me of that scene in "Titanic" where ppl were on the top deck as the ship was sinking and they all wanted/needed a lifeboat....really did! sad really......and sort of pathetic.

heh Sillykid, I did see a few people who also just wanted to join games. I stayed above that. I knew everyone in that room had every right to be there. Wish more people did realize that part.

Telling anyone to leave a room because your team is in line, or for any reason really is totally unacceptable.

Telling anyone to leave a room because your team is in line, or for any reason really is totally unacceptable.
Yet, that's basically what I was forced to do by a VMK_.

"If your team is in line," he said, "they they are stuck. Please join a game so others can play."

I didn't realize that standing in a Pirates Lobby, quest or not, was punishable by a boot, but that's what that VMK_ was doing...

I saw very little poor behavior. Mostly just inconsideration and an overall lack of respect for other players.
  • Joining games repeatedly after being told that a team was set
  • Three ppl waiting in a lobby for five more ppl to show up who were not even logged in
  • Not being organized and using 20 minutes to discuss the strategy in the pirates lobby
  • People going afk to eat dinner, shower and shop while waiting on others to sign into vmk.

However, most of these were kids who were desperate to beat the quest. I suppose this that is why I did not see it as poor behavior. However, I did see some of that from adults as well. :sad2:

:woohoo:

Well the major problem I saw this with was if you had a team of 7 which were all huddled together and say another team of 6 and two players with a priate game ready to start and still asking people to join. And even after both teams said sorry we are playing with our team they did not get it. We said no one standing here will join your game but they continued to wait.
That was just plain annoying.

And our good heart nature was ruin by a few bad apples after seeing this done to briar and others We would never trust another to join we did not know.

Wish VMK would have thought to just open up on room for just individuals no team players. And if a team was caught in there then staff would have had a good reason to boot. Would have solved many issues

The worse to me was seeing dis players destroying games. To me that was the lowest of the lows.

But got great pleasure when we started a game for Mickeys riend.

She had tried like 6 times and still not made it through. now with a queue of 40 -50 long we had already put in lots of time and were determined she would get through. Cause they as a family had given hours and hours to help us.

When we start and we had a player we kept booting join in. And start shooting we asked him to stop and he taunted us. We tried to block him in the first game and he told us we sock.

And the second game too. But the third she really needed all her sitting ducks and her huuby was steaming now how dare someone ruin he wife's chance to get passed 575. So he nailed him good and she passed with a score of 587 woot.

So let that be a lesson kids do not get a "has been" angry you will never win :) :lmao: that was our proudest moment as a team we defeat the evil trouble maker :)

I totally agree with you on this GG. In a public room, I dont think there should have been a difference whether it were players or a vmk_ telling you to leave. It shoudlnt happen. its a public room, we had a purpose for being there even though we shouldnt need one. Even the couple of jerks who were only in the room to hold everyone else up had a right to be there. At least thats my opinion on it.

Hmmm pirates I used to love that game LOL

Really when there has been times that people needed to get into a room or play a game like mansion and there were long lines I would leave if I wasnt involved to make room for others who really needed it.

I can come back in a few hours or the next day and play or play something else or go outside.

Its kinda like here when there is a hurricane the stores get overrun with people clambering to get in so IF I can avoid the mess cause all I need is nothing I have to have to make it through I dont go.

I have as much right as anyone else to go wal mart but sometimes is it really worth it when I can do the same thing with less hassle later on?

well said aengus and geggy...ppl are angry and complaining about how some ppl not in the quest were holding them up in games and in the lobby, but really it was a problem created by vmk's lack of forsight and not other players. so if u have a complaint it is all about vmk and not other players...even ppl who were going in multiple times with mules are blameless since vmk allows it...i personally don't have much use for mules BUT if vmk wants to start a feeding frenzy with the prizes they awarded in ONE quest, then expect this kind of behavior as the norm....

Amen!

VMK_told me and another player we had to join a game with six other players. We said no thanks we have friends coming and we were helping them was told we could not wait we had to join a game. Oh and our team was in line and would be in the next batch if they would have started.

Really I do feel better having been off for a couple of days and getting it out of my system being ticked off and I appreciate you all letting me vent. :thumbsup2

Doesnt do any good to vent to others they just think Im more nuts than usual LOL :lmao:

I have been thinking this since the complaints started. Why complain so much about other people - others holding up the line, others muling, others being selfish and leaving their team, others trading their Treasure Detector to their mules, others trying to trade their items for other things (even *gasp* Stitch Hats)... it's not the fault of the players. Players play the game, plain and simple. If VMK's shortsightedness created these issues, and I really do think that's the case, then blame the VMK Team, and send your complaints there.

Otherwise, play your game and enjoy it. If you don't enjoy it, then don't play. I enjoy it a lot, and really enjoyed the quest thoroughly, so I continue to play...guilt-free, happy, and with a smile.

Yes, I agree, thanks for a place to vent. I tried explaining my frustration to my husband, but his eyes just rolled and he zoned out. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think that those players you intentionally tried to ruin the game for others are to blame. They CHOSE to act like that. VMK doesn't control people's actions. They are real people like you and me, not robots that they can program. :sad2:

I do think though that VMK is to blame for most of the inconveniences of this quest. The long lines, the jammed rooms, people holding up because they are waiting for other team mates, that is all their fault because of their poor planning. As someone said before, they should have seen this coming. :3dglasses

I do think that writing things out helps you move on a little. I know I have to let off my steam to someone who understands what I'm going through. If I were to go up to someone and start saying everything that people are saying here, they'd look at me and tell me I'm crazy! LOL

Thanks for making this thread. :goodvibes

Now that some people are talking about VMK_ I really did not like when he told me and a few ppl i know to give up on the big quest and do the little quest instead and it was the second day, staff should never say such things to their players even if it is what they most probably wanted -_-

1. A bunch of girls on the dock knowing ppl were trying to get their teams in....standing and not playing and making fun of eveyone on the dock

2. A guy in stitch who I will not name, being an arrogant jerk to everyone who came on that dock. Thats the attitude you get from alot of the "rich" players.

LOL!! I saw these ppl too!! I waited for my team in lobbie, although we really tried to get in line close together..
My problem was the AFk ppl and those who made fun of others. With the stress of the quest, being mean is just uncalled for!!:wizard:

I removed a couple references to an obvious individual.

2 reminders.

1> dont use characters like ___ or *** to replace actual letters. The reason being even if your saying nothing bad, its just a big no no on this board. The WM's are very serious about that rule.

2> Remember that the VMK_'s get their instructions from their superiors. They dont make the rules.

Ugly things we saw....

I think I saw Aengus at one point in the pirate lobby...
