How about dinner at Concourse Steakhouse?

Hi everyone,
Because of the free dining I am looking for some new restaurants to try.
I have already made PS/AR at Signature Restaurants like Jiko, Citrico's and Coral Reef. Now I am looking for a restaurant that takes just one tableservice credit :)
How about Concourse Steakhouse?
I don't read much about that one on these boards.
Is that good or bad? :)

We absolutely loved Concourse Steakhouse. Our food was fantastic and we enjoyed being close to the parks. I had the Ribye and it melted in your mouth. I had a salad for an appetizer and the that Viniagrette was like nothing I had before. Very tasty. The desserts were also very tasty. I had the warm chocolate pudding cake(Lava Cake) and dh had the mocha cheesecake. DD4 had the artists pallette.

We also really love Concourse. (Unfortunately we didn't get to visit on our trip last month. ) They have a really good selection for all types of meat eaters (seafood, chicken, steak). Plus, you can watch the monorail while you eat!

The Concourse wasn't our favorite. It was okay, but just not the best. I thought the other "steak house" dinners we'd had were way better. I did like the potatos though. If I was choosing a single credit dinner in the MK area I'd choose Kona. Our dinners there have been amazing.

What is the best way to get tpo the Concouse to Mk and back to the park after dinner?

THANKS

Just curious, how close is the Concourse Steakhouse to Chef Mickeys? I am worried that if my kids (6 & 8) see and hear all the fun at Chef Mickeys they might not sit for dinner well. We are going to Chef Mickeys but not until later in the week.

Good question! they are right next to each other. Meaning they even share the same half wall. You can hear all of the CM activities and SEE the characters. It can be a distraction for the little ones and also disappointing, especially if they don't understand why Mickey isn't coming to their table.

That is exactly what happened to us. They could see straight in and wanted to know the entire time why we couldn't eat at the fun place. When I recently tol them we are going back my DS9 asked if we could please go to the "fun place" this time. :wave2:

I've never been because I heard it was Okay, not good or great.

We had dinner there on the last night of our trip in November '04. It was less than spectacular. I ordered the Prime Rib and it left a lot to be desired, no real flavor and kinda tough, my wife ordered the filet and it came out tough too. I feel I could have gotten the same thing at Outback. The highlight of the meal was the food color painting cookie that my daughter got. From now on if I want to go to a steakhouse I'll venture across town to Emerril's.

Concourse Steakhouse is our family first night dinner for several years now. We enjoy the laid back atmosphere and the food is very, very good.

I have made a PS/AR at the Concourse Steakhouse, so we are going over there to experience it ourselves. I am looking forward to it :)
But actually I am looking forward to the whole vacation... :teeth:

we are trying it for my DH's birthday. Hopefully the kids will be fine with not being at Chef Mickeys. We will have breakfast at Chef Mickey's but not till after that dinner.

Depends on what you mean by "best". If you mean speed, then you should just walk back to the MK. If you mean comfort, then take the monorail. To get to the MK from the Contemporary you have to stop at the TTC, Poly and GF before ariving at the MK.

I like Councourse Steakhouse - but largely because I like eating and watching the monorail glide in and out of CR. I think the food is good, not spectacular. If you want a good steak on WDW property, nothing compares to Shula's over at Dolphin.

I thought the Concourse steakhouse was very good , the only place i had a better steak was at Le Cellier mmmm...mushroom filet

:) We have an AR/PS for le Cellier as well, we love their steaks.
It's funny but here at home we never eat steaks, we don't like the taste of it.
But when we are at WDW we eat a lot of it and really love them.

First off this is not a place I will ever eat again. Okay with that out of the way chef mickeys if you have eaten there is a distraction . My hubbie said if you arent ordering steak then it is not good. I ordered caesar salad and a penne chicken dish. It was loaded with some awful flakes of white cheese( maybe parmesan) but it was bad. I took it off the caesar salad that didnt even taste like caesar salad. When it came on the pasta I told them to take it back and take that stuff off. It came back with just an oil dressign she said they put that stuff in the sauce too. Wow what a meal pasta with oil and chicken. My dd ate most of it. I wish we would have ordered the kids mac and cheese which looked good. Desserts were okay .
NOt one I would reccommend!
Diane
