How about a Positive Thread???

While we were spending Christmas 2002 at WDW my daughter (then 11) lost $20 of her Christmas money in Epcot. We looked and looked to no avail. Oh well, at least we were in WDW. Then, upon our return in July 2003, we were lounging at the Swan/Dolphin pool when a $20 bill floats over to my daughter. We asked if anyone around us had lost the $20, but no one had - we chalked it up to Disney magic, and my daughter was very happy!

Many postive experiences from our Disney trips.

Our kids first trip to DW we get on the bus and everyone's still just a little sleepy and we had the best bus driver. A retired gentleman I would say. He gets everyone loaded and we are off to MK. All of a sudden he starts singing Disney songs in the most beautiful tenor voice. Before you know it everyone on the bus is singing along!! We certainly weren't sleepy after that ride.

Just this Sunday, my son wanted to ride the waterslide at CSR. Since he is just a newbie swimmer, I had to go first to catch him. The dad behind me was being so nice explaining to my son when he could go down the slide and making sure he was okay after I left him. It was much appreciated!

We met a very nice family on a bus home from Downtown Disney. We got to hear all about their hometown and how great it was and now we're all about wanting to move to Idaho!!! :) That was this past Saturday...

So many people talked to my son on this trip, asked if he was having a good time, what rides did he like, etc. He just ate it up and talked everyone's ear off.

At CP character breakfast, my son was chosen to be Chef of the Day. Talk about some magic there! He got to make his own pancakes with Pooh watching. Then he got his pic made with the whole gang of characters and they also let the rest of us get in a picture. He got a magical moment certificate. What a treat!

My son's birthday and Father's day was coming up soon, so I ordered gift baskets from Peggy. She did Star Wars themes for them, which was great since we are all big fans and were planning on spending a day at Star Wars weekend at MGM. Our first full day there, they came back for nap time to find them waiting for them in the room. They were so surprised! She did a great job and we loved eating the candy all week. And now my son sleeps with Jedi Mickey every night!!!

Already thinking of when we can go back...

I remember a guard at the CBR who remembered us each evening on our return from wonderful Disney days. He was so pleasent and my wife and I felt so special. We still talk about this sweet man ten years later and look for him. We have not seen him I think because he may have retired.

While waiting for several rides during Jersey week (November) when a person would walk in wearing a Philadelphia Eagles shirt all the fans in the crowd would start the Eagles cheer
E-A- G- L- E -S..... EAGLES!!!!

My first trip to Disney with my own child was when my DD was 2. My DH had stayed home (convinced it would be a disaster with a little- How Could it be- Disney is magic) so my sister came. Being that my DD is an Early Riser we would be at the park openings and headed straight to her favorite- Winnie the Pooh and Tigger happened to be there and rode with us- it made all of our day-obviously I flipped being such a Tigger fan......

Thank you everyone. I really needed this.

A happy thread! I love it!

I have read the shock thread too but this is a great idea.

There are so many great magical moments.... But even run of the mill things are great. We just got back and the whole trip was great. I didnt notice any "bad" kids. I saw a lot of parents making sure their kids behaved. I saw people's faces light up in delight as they experienced things for the first time.

My family and I were at MK on the "infamous June 4" Saturday night. It was really crowded and it was a sea of red but the atmosphere was so festive and friendly and everyone was having a great time. We literally walked on to all the rides despite the crowds. It was our best night of the trip!

This past trip while we were waiting for Fantasmic, there was a man a few rows up from us that had a bunch of those glow-in-the-dark necklaces. He was throwing them to people, so everyone was standing up calling to him and cheering every time he threw one. It was really fun, just a little extra magic that took away from the waiting. As soon as he finished, the show started, so it was fun to pay attention to something other than the clock.

We've only been twice but I can think of so many great things!

The first trip I'd have to say we were just blown away by the show and magic of Disney. I got all teary eyed and actually clapped and bounced up and down like a 6 yr old girl watching Wishes for the first time.

We were concerned about our second trip this past Spring Break. I had read on here how awfully crowded it would be. It was just the only time we could go other than the super hot summertime. So we went and it was FANTASTIC! Within 3 hours of getting to Epcot our very first day, the kids were chosen to be "Chefs of the Day" at the Liberty Inn counter service. The CMs made chef hats to commemorate the day for my kids with their names and the date and the Liberty Inn on it. They were taken backstage and announced as the Chefs of the Day for the other guests and got to make ice cream sundaes. They were even given "Magical Moment" certificates.

I surprised my kids with a Wishes Cruise and the looks on their faces as they watched the fireworks sprinkle down like pixie dust on the castle was magic enough to make me get teary eyed again.

Just the overall happiness of being in WDW is incredible.

GREAT THREAD WAY TO GO OP :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

It was back in '85...many, many trips ago. My daugher was 6, and we'd decided to drive down from South Carolina where we'd be staying at my parents beach home to Disney. DD, had only been to Disney once before,, one day,, and that time the trip got cut short when she became ill and ended up in the hosptal.
We arrived around dinner time; drove over to the MK. I still remember the guy on the tram..his name was Wayne and was hilarious.. and she wanted to keep riding.
We decided to go on the paddlewheel boat that goes around Tom's Sawyer's Island. It was such a nice evening.. balmy and all the sounds of the park in the air. There was a young Oriental couple, newlyweds, I assumed that were at the rail near us.. and the young man was taking photos of the young lady then then she took one of him then he took another of her. My husband went over and asked if they'd like him to take a photo of both of them together.. then it became apparent they didn't speak English..but with alot of smiles and hand gestures they got the message and he took their photo.. then a few minutes later the young man approached us and that he wanted to return the favor. And then bowed to each of us. As we left the boat he again bowed... for years my daughter would say, "People come to Disney from other countries.. and even if they don't speak our language.. we can still communicate.. it's wonderful..isn't it?" I know it sounds a little silly in writen word.. but... it just really was a wonderful first impression for her for her first real Disney encounter with other guests. And as we were leaving that night... we stood on the platform for the monorail.. and watched an eclipse... it was like there was a sign that it was always going to be our magical place to go.
Oh, boy.. Now I sound like an ad but... 26 trips later... and we all still love it... it is still magical!

Last year, we were in the concierge lounge at GF. We happened to have our wedding ears with us (we were on our honeymoon). A man approached us and said that he wanted to give us a wedding present. He had rented the Grand One for Wishes and had room for more people, and then asked if we wanted to come along. We went and it was amazing.

We spent the rest of our trip spending time with him and his family (who had escaped the hurricanes, or at least tried to) every time we were in the lounge. We even found out that we have friends in common... small world.

This was just the cutest thing. I was just sitting outside of Pizzafari after watching Lion King. The rest of the guys were in the bathroom yet. A family walked by and a little boy, I'll bet 3 if that, handed me a little bunch of flowers he had picked somewhere. It was just the cutest thing and such a surprise.

We had gotten stuck on Kali River Rapids that morning and had 4 Fast Passes that we knew we were not going to use. They were for any time that day. We were looking for a "family" to give them to to spread "our" bit of magic for the day, and so I gave their family my 4 Fast Passes. A bit of the magic for each of us. I think I still have those flowers tucked away somewhere.

After reading Moonmom's post about other languages, it reminded me of my favorite WDW memory. The first time I really went to disney to all the parks was not until my honeymoon, but when I was about 8, my parents took us to Epcot for a day. It was a secret, and I remember watching the road signs to find out where we were going and being so excited. While we were waiting in line for one of the rides, there was a little girl in front of us with her parents that was speaking spanish. My older siblings knew some Spanish because they had learned it in school, so I had them teach me how to ask her name, etc. I was able to meet Andrea and exchange addresses as pen pals. I wish I still had that address, because it would be so cool to write her now. I believe this is why Spanish has always been a language that I am interested in, because of that amazing moment of communication.

This is a great thread When my husband and I went to WDW for our fhoneymoon(this was my first trip to WDW) in 2002 a lot of great things happened. We did have on our bride and groom mickey hats, a cinderellas Royal Table they decorated our table with confetti, and gave us Champagne glasses and free dessert, it was great. Then when we were at Epcot a CM came up to us and gave us 4 passes to Test Trac, these were better than fast past we got to go through the exit of the ride and had no wait at all. It made the vaction wonderful. I always have something positive to say about WDW, I love the idea of a positive thread...great idea.

This past April, my family went on vacation to WDW and met up with 5 other families vacationing there.

We ate, went to the parks, water parks and had the best vacation I have ever had. Disney is great, Disney with friends is the best! :flower:

Okay, I'll help you keep this going! On one of our trips we arrived at EPCOT mid-morning with 4 excited kids in tow. They ALWAYS want to do SSE first, a couple of them say it is their favorite in ALL of WDW. Anyway, we got in the back of a long winding line. A CM, an older man, came up and asked us if we would like to jump on ASAP! He took us out of line, took us through a back way, and we immediately got seats on the ride. We were quiet about it so I doubt anyone else could have gotten mad. My kids were beaming, it made our day and was the highlight of that trip. They still talk about it many years later!!!

I almost forgot the most magical thing that ever happened to us! It was mine and DH's first trip together. We were exploring the Hall of Presidents and there was this wonderful older woman CM in there named "Athena". She told us the most fascinating stories and walked us around the building. She was very impressed with my DH's military experience and gave us some insider tips. We told her it was our first trip together as a couple and we had just gotten married a few months ago. She asked where we were staying and we did not think anything of it. When we made it back to our room at the Poly, there was a beautiful gift basket with fruit, wine and chocolates. Sitting beside the basket were a huge stuffed Mickey Groom and Minnie Bride. We were quite taken aback and could not figure out where it came from. We questioned the CM at the front desk and she just said, "A fellow cast member dressed in colonial attire was here and asked that this be placed in your room." We knew right away it was Athena. We decided to repay here with something equally special but couldn't think of anything until 3 years later when we had our daughter. We named her Athena after the wonderful CM we met at WDW!

Edited to add: Does anyone know if "Athena" the CM is still employed at WDW? She was probably about 60 when we were there in 1998.
