How about a DISer "scavenger hunt"?

Only, it wouldn't be a "true" scavenger hunt. We could choose an item unique to us on the DIS. One of us going to WDW soon would take it and hide it somewhere in the parks. That person could then post clues until it is found and re-hidden by another DISer. Then the person who found it and re-hid it would do the same thing, etc. If we did it right, this could go on for years.

We'd have to have good hiding places or Disney might "clean it up."

The clues could be riddles, hints, poems...etc.

Would this be feasible? Would anyone want to do it?

I'm willing to try- I'll be there next weekend. Any ideas on what should be hidden? Something lime-green or a small Mickey figurine?

It would need to be fairly small. Of course, lime green would be perfect.

There's this, button, from the DISshop.

I could have it say something like "The Great DIS Walt Disney World Scavenger Hunt"...

Any other thoughts?

While it sounds like a fun idea I'm afraid that mousekeeping in the parks is VERY efficient and whatever item you hid and wherever you hid it, it wouldn't take long for mousekeeping to find and dispose of it.

It still might be fun to try- that's why I would probaby use something really inexpensive (or even free!) like the lime green Mickey heads for Disney paint. I'll let you guys know if I hide something this weekend.

OK, I'll pick up a Lime Green Mickey head thingy and write "DIS Scavenger Hunt" or something on it. I'll scan it & post the pic here so we all know what to look for, & then I'll hide it & post the clue when I get back (unless someone is going before Friday)

Sorry I didn't have a chance to scan the paint chip sample before I left. It is the "Alien Green" (lime Green) Mickey head Disney paint chip I picked up at Home Depot. I wrote "DIS Scavenger Hunt" on it, too. Ready for the clue? Here goes:

Behind The Pirates of the Carribean
But not where you might think
Go to under the train station on Main Street
And then stop to think

Remember if you go look for it, take another paint chip in case Mousekeeping found it first!

I just had to post here and add an idea. I don't know if CM are allowed to wear anything on their lanyards but official Disney pins, but what if you gave a DIS Scavenger Hunt pin to a CM in one of the parks to wear- not a resort, that would be too hard!

The DISSER person who spotted it could claim it and give another one to a different CM and post a clue as to where to find the next one. That would solve the problem of it being "Cleaned up".

Just a thought....

Another thought - along the lines of Stacilee..... since we're the biggest and best Disney fans EVER, if we got something like the keychain (or something else tangible) it could be placed in the "care" of someone..... there are so many food places, rides, shops, etc..... that maybe they would care for it until it was found. Or something along those lines.....
