A friend is considering this and in the past I have seen places advertised, but can't remember what they were. Does anyone recommend a site to rent homes near Disney?

As you can see, there are several. Last time we used http://www.windsorhillsrent.com. Put in the dates and your requirements and then owners with vacancies for that time will send emails with quotes. These are all vacation homes in Windsor Hills which is one of the more popular vacation rental communities. There are some other communities also that offer their own slate of amenities.

I'm so glad you asked this! I've been going back and forth about staying on or off property. I keep hearing about Windsor Hills but I'm not sure what the safest way to book is.

I've used Home Away, and VRBO and most of the places are listed on both sites. I've never had a problem and will be looking again for a place in August.

sleep near the mouse . com is wonderful. The homes are managed/maintained by the owners (a lovely couple originally from MN).
