Housekeeping returns to normal

I saw in a news posting that DVC will again be able to request extra paid housekeeping. How did that get requested?

I am pretty sure that you simply contact them when you are there and request it by either calling housekeeping or stopping by the front desk.

If you have an 8 night stay where you're supposed to get a day or two of housekeeping anyways, how do they charge you if you say you want it for LOS?

Those that are paying are paying for a full clean. You only get that once for every 8 night stay so for those staying longer than that, they would charge you for every night minus one. I think it would be pretty simple for longer stays.

If you have a trip of 7 nights or fewer, you get a the traditionnal "trash and towel" service on the 4th day (to get to that fourth day you count arrival date as one). You also do not pay a full cleaning price if you order full cleaning for that fourth day of your trip but instead pay a full cleaning price minus the value of the fourth day usual service. Prior to the suspension of the full cleaning option during the pandemic, that deduction was typically half the price of full cleaning.

Although there is a possibility the resurrection of daily service will do away with that deduction. The last time I used a full cleaning day was late 2019, my last trip before the pandemic, and, as was my usual practice, I ordered daily service for the fourth trash and towel day and got the lower cost. DVC might have an excuse for eliminating that deduction now since trash service is now performed daily without extra cost and they also now give you a switch of towels , new coffee and dishwasher detergent upon request without extra cost.

No. A full cleaning will occur during your stay if you are there 8 nights or more. Anything less and you get "trash & towel" service after 3 nights (Day#4of your stay).

They are going to be starting this up again but I don’t know what the new rates will be. They vary by room size. They could remain the same as before and that document might be on the DVc website.

They're currently doing trash every day and towel refresh on Day 4 (arrival day counts as Day 1). If you arrive on Monday, for example, you'd get fresh towels on Thursday and trash picked up every day.

I thought they were doing trash and towel service every day as an excuse to enter all the rooms. When we were there in Feb, we came back every day to our trash being gone.

They check the room and take the trash but don’t replace the towels daily. However, you can call and ask them to bring you towels at any time. They don’t take the old ones until your trash ano towel official day…at least that is my experience.
