Am I correct in assuming that full blown housekeeping still has not returned to Disney resorts? If so, any thoughts or ideas about how soon full blown housekeeping may come back? For us it is important and a little luxury we enjoy on vacation.

I think at this point it's a staffing issue. They were having staffing issues with housekeeping BEFORE the plague...

It hasn't returned. I am not convinced it ever will. They used to give credit/ gift cards to guests who would refuse housekeeping to lighten the work load and staff needs. Now that it's not daily and they haven't had to take financial loss to lighten the load, I imagine it will become a biweekly or towels and trash only type deal. Many resorts don't provide daily cleaning and I imagine that's the direction they are headed. A cut corner on the path of many cut corners they hope people will forgive and will not deter from continuing to spend their dollars at Disney at the same rate or higher, for less. Sorry, I know that sounds negative. I just don't see it being a priority for Disney as it was something they propositioned you to decine prior to covid. That and the lack of cast members that covid has created will take a long time to recoup.

We stayed at non Disney hotel last weekend in wine country in CA and there was no daily housekeeping there either. This was a smallish boutique hotel with only something like 35 rooms. It seems to be an industry wide situation right now.

The return of the DCP this month is going to be a Game Changer for Staffing shortages as gradually more and more of them report.

However I don't see Disney assigning great numbers of them to the Housekeeping role.

I agree that we may never see daily Housekeeping return .

I totally understand the impact and how staffing shortages are creating a challenge so as long as hotels are discounted to make up for it I'm all good. But the idea of a few dollar gift card isn't enough to motivate me.

Not at the better hotels. For what Disney charges at the deluxes, they have no business not providing housekeeping.

The hotel we stayed at was a AAA 4 diamond property, same as the Grand Californian, Grand Floridian, etc.

To their credit, the room was absolutely spotless and they left us like 10 fluffy bath towels, and would have provided us any additional towels or amenities we needed. We left trash outside in the hallway as directed and it was always taken away within the hour.

How much did it cost per night? $500 - $900 range for a standard non-suite, like at Disney deluxe resorts? It's crazy to pay that much and not get to come back to a freshly cleaned room every day.

$494 plus taxes and fees per night.

Also, to be clear, the hotel would have cleaned the room on the 3rd day, but we only stayed 3 nights. I believe Disney is cleaning rooms on a similar schedule.

Housekeeping was very friendly when we called. They brought supplies right away so if you need towels or garbage bags, more soap or coffee or whatever... give them a call.

Disney only offers full housekeeping between stays, regardless how long they are. Every other day someone will take out the trash and deliver towels, & clean up obvious messes that people make, but that's far from full service housekeeping. And $494 is on the cheap side for a Disney deluxe.

I wrote an email to guest services about my concern with the lack of daily housekeeping and a lovely lady, I believe her name was Anna, reached out to me via phone. We had a nice chat and she totally understood my concerns but she told me that there are no plans for daily housekeeping to return anytime soon. Who knows how accurate that is, but I'm just passing along what I was told.

@disny_luvr thanks! Agreed no plans as least as far as the CM knows. The longer people pay full price and get less service why should Disney change it? This is in their best, financial, interest to let this become the new norm for as long as they can.
