Housekeeping poll #1

My housekeeper comes in once a week for the toilet, sheets and vacuum.. I keep the dishes and laundry up.

This is what I do too, no way I could take care of all that, she also mops the floors, and I have someone who comes in to help with the cats who takes out the trash when he is there. I usually have to do that as well as put the cans out weekly for collection.

I clean all the time and I have it in my mind as soon as I finish grad school I am getting a house and a house keeper!!!LOL...really serious

What I do at home as to cleaning is irrevelant to me while on vacation. I see no correlation at all.

I'm trying to see if people have different expectations on vacation as opposed to what they do at home.

WOW - that's a lot of housecleaning - - I think I'm doing well if I can get the chores rotated in every other week.

That's kind of the way it is here too, but I STRIVE for weekly!

I love to cook and do it extensively and I'm a stickler for a clean kitchen so it's a daily thing. Bathrooms, sheets, towels etc are a weekly thing! Ceilling fans are by far the bain of my existence!

Yes, mine gets cleaned every time I use it. I HATE going to someone's house and seeing dishes in the sink etc. I never want anyone to pop in on me and see that!

Our kitchen is cleaned almost daily because my DH loves to cook and makes a HUGE mess when he cooks so the kitchen is cleaned daily. As for the toliets everyone but my sons is cleaned weekly my DS, 19, is responsible for his own bathroom and so far his cleaning standards are not quiet mine. His bedroom is just as bad. I do make him clean the bathroom when visitors come over which is every couple of weeks but his bedroom door is just closed and as he puts it, "who wants to see my room anyway?" I will say I am not so good about changing the sheets weekly. We have a three hour commute round trip everyday to work so by the weekend I prioritize and the sheets usually get done when I am on a major cleaning kick. That happens every two-three weeks.

Clean kitchen & bathroom daily. (mostly wipe down with wet cloth & dry) disinfect everything weekly.
Countertops in kitchen sometimes several times! Hubby also likes to cook and can make huge messes! ( but he is a GOOD cook & I don't have to do it!!)
Dishes removed from diswasher in a.m. , then dirty dishes loaded as used, washed at bedtime.

Dust, wax furniture, dustmop, wash floors, & vacuum weekly.
(Hubby helps!! )
Change sheets weekly.
Clean towels daily.

All we really want is the rooms to be cleaned properly when we get there.
We clean up daily just like home when we get there. No need for trash or towel service. We take out our trash daily and always get a villa, so we wash our towels.
We have vacuumed when necessay on vacation.
When we leave the villa at end of vacation dirty dishes are being washed in dishwasher, sheets removed, comforter never used & folded on chair, towels in tub.

OK this one was a toughy I answered weekly for bathroom and kitchen - truth be told bathrooms are every other week with wipe ups on the off weeks. Kitchen floors are bi weekly with daily wipe up after dinner (or whatever meal I cook) - I cook daily sometimes lunch and when DH cooks there is NO wiping up so on his day to make dinner - wednesdays the kitchen is skipped!!!

LOL, well I end up cleaning my kitchen after every meal, but you really have to get into the routine we have at our house. Whomever cooks does not clean up after dinner. The person who does the cooking gets to go watch the news instead of cleaning up!

Of course, when DH cooks, he makes a real mess. When I cook, I clean up as I go, so he ends up with nothing to do but put the dishes in the dishwasher an wash the pots!
