Housekeeping offer at Deluxe?

I haven’t seen any reference to the housekeeping offer and deluxe resorts. Do they do it at deluxe? And, is it all or nothing? We’ll be there 7 days. I wouldn’t want to skip every day of housekeeping, but I could see only having them come in once during the week.

I don't fee strongly about this one way or the other. We frequently only let them come in to our rooms every other day or every third day (because my husband is paranoid they'll steal stuff). So I don't see this as being a huge deal. As long as it's optional.

Can someone explain the "new" housekeeping? I'm staying at a Deluxe, but still want to know what's up.

They're offering a gift card to decline housekeeping during your stay. I believe it is $10 per night, minus 1 night of your stay. So, if you're there for 7 nights, you can get a $60 gift card for not using housekeeping. Then you just call for towels, trash pickup, and toiletries.

I get way too sweaty at Disney to not get clean sheets! My husband runs every morning, and usually ends up taking two showers a day. I guess I'll stick with my Mousekeeping.
It is a cool offer though if you're only staying for 3 or 4 days!

I would love to know what the balance becomes for time spent when the room goes to turnover, especially when people get so upset that their room isn't ready at 3:00.

DVC, with its limited mousekeeping, has issues with the "after 4" checkin.

I'm somewhat convinced that the time saved daily is getting destroyed on turnover clean.

How is it any different then the 4th day cleaning when they are "suppose" to do everything anyways? I do not think it really adds much more to it, I do not know why people think that these rooms are going to look like a disaster area and will take a lot longer to clean. We like having an "option", whether we use it or not. We still have yet to decide for our trip at POFQ coming up in 6 days, but would like to have the option the next time we stay deluxe. JMO

I've seen and heard of some real horrors. Some of the DVC members/users, if they are treating the unit like "home," should have their Actual Homes condemned by public health.

Even if they are not disaster areas, they WILL take longer, and, there will be issues planning and organising staff rotas and working hours. Which leads to a whole raft of other problems. Which doesn't even being to address the risks inherent in allowing even just crumbs to be around for a few days in a climate like FL.

Of course you will hear about the horror stories, because history shows us that negative posts are much more common. I can definitely see DVC units being worse, because of having kitchens and much more food in those rooms.

Sorry, I disagree. Like I said, it should not be much different then the 4th day cleaning that they have to plan and organize now. I do not think WDW is implementing this because it will take longer and be more work, that is counter productive. And for the crumb, I had to laugh because I have lived in Florida most of my life. I guess we just have different opinions.
