I got in for housekeeping, but I really don't want that role. I did not put it down as a role choice and we did not discuss it in the interview. I really wanted hospitality. And thats my major in school right now. Anybody else get housekeeping?

You can call the recruiting line about it. I've never heard of anyone being given a role that they did not put on their checklist unless it was the end of the season and that's all that was left.

Hospitality is an extremely competitive role. I got it as a non-major, yet my roommate did not get it and she is a hospitality major. I think it all depends on the interview :confused3

All I can say is call them and explain the situation. How many other roles did you check? Maybe they goofed up?

I am pretty sure that happened to someone last semester and Disney doesn't want that to happen. They want you to get what you applied for so just call them and tell them what happened. They should change it for you! I hope it works out for you!

Yeah CALL THEM, I am in housekeeping right now and it is the most horrible job ever

You didn't pick Resort Hopper, by any chance, did you? Because that might explain it.

Oh, U know what, resort hopper was one of my choices. But we still didn't discuss that in the interviewer, nor the other roles I chose. The only roles I put down was Hospitality, Merchandise, Conceirge, and Resort Hopper. And we only talked about hospitality.

There you go then. If you pick Resort Hopper, it specifically says "Must be receptive to working in both the Housekeeping and Hospitality roles" - so they gave you Hospitality.

Therefore, you can call, but I don't think you're going to be able to switch.

My boyfriend said he would love to be Hospitality though - and when he explained why, it really shone a light on it for me. He said that there is nothing people like more than to come back and see a neat bed, new cute little soaps, and towel animals. That's the best part, because you feel like you're being taken care of, like the housekeeper wants to make sure you have the best stay as their guest.

Knowing, even though you probably won't be able to see the guests, that you're bringing them joy, was what he liked about it.

If you go into work like that every day, then I think you'd be okay.

What do you think?
